The girl looks as out of place as she feels, uncomfortably tense as she tries to maintain at least some semblance of personal space - though it was difficult to achieve with the multitude of strange, scary men she had found herself trapped in the presence of.

Her very first foray outside of her tower, and this was how it had ended up? What happened to taking her to see the floating lights? How could Jack have just left her on her own like this? Maybe Mother was right...

Leave it to Jack to drag someone into such a predicament as the one in which the young lady now finds herself.

No doubt he'd regaled and swayed her with some story of adventure and freedom or some such other foolishness—only to abandon her at the opportune moment wherein her presence was no longer of benefit to him.

Now, here she stands, in the middle of a tavern in Tortuga, the last place such a lass should be. He ought to leave it alone. He ought to resume his drinking and then make his way back to the Pearl.

And yet...

Damn him.

Without standing, he calls out from his table in the corner, voice cutting through the rowdiness and the catcalls and the whistles that had erupted with her presence.

"If ye be waitin' fer Jack Sparrow, Missy, it'd be m' most unfortunate duty t' inform ye that ye'll like as not be waiting' till the end o' days."

The tumult becomes a bit more subdued with his address of her. Even in these days, even uncursed, not many there are who would care to risk drawing his ire—and even fewer who would risk bringing him to draw his blade.

"The simple fact o' the ma'er is this: ye'd be far wiser t' cast yer lot on be'er odds 'n' t' be more discernin' about the comp'ny ye keep."
