Interesting how most city builder games assume Usamerican and European architecture by default while keeping the original SimCity "greenfield" idea of "here's a completely *empty* piece of land" to develop.
When the only places where we are actually seeing the idea of huge cities rising from 'nothing' built from practically 'scratch' are in places like the Middle East and China
And of course big big quotes and asterisks around 'empty land' and 'nothing', because, much like I have criticized all games that follow the SimCity style of building in "empty land", those lands are never empty.
But what's interesting to me is that the idea of building a completely planned city from scratch is something that just does not happen anymore in the US and Europe for political and socioeconomic reasons. The countries where this happens are very different.

Some of the fun things I've made with river stones. Crochet & bead crochet, embroidery: laidwork, canvaswork, felt, wire, silk, cotton, wool, bead embroidery... All sorts of fancy jackets for humble stones.
I'm excited to share that three of my small stitched poem-objects have been selected for the Petite Miniature Textiles Biennial Exhibition 2026.
I'm still a bit shaky-excited.
Finished stitching my Oversight series.
12 small embroidered poem-objects in wool, linen, cotton, silk, stitched on canvaswork mesh and edged in glass beads.
Edit to add(thank you @avpdgirl): [ID: 1. stitching: They know your name, 2. stitching: They scan your face, 3. stitching: They time your call, 4. stitching: They hide your post, 5. stitching: They form your view, 6. stitching: They sold your data, 7. stitching: They view your work, 8. stitching: They note your exit, 9. stitching: They mark your test, 10. stitching: They flag your card, 11. stitching: They read your file, 12. stitching: They lock your cell. /End ID]
Ladies' Crochet Peasant Jacket (likely American, circa 1915)
This cream short-sleeved shrug features light blue picot edging and a tapered waist.
If you want to crochet one for yourself, the pattern was published in The Columbia Book of Yarns 1915 on page 170 (see below).
