When the only places where we are actually seeing the idea of huge cities rising from 'nothing' built from practically 'scratch' are in places like the Middle East and China

But what's interesting to me is that the idea of building a completely planned city from scratch is something that just does not happen anymore in the US and Europe for political and socioeconomic reasons. The countries where this happens are very different.

Some of the fun things I've made with river stones. Crochet & bead crochet, embroidery: laidwork, canvaswork, felt, wire, silk, cotton, wool, bead embroidery... All sorts of fancy jackets for humble stones.

I'm still a bit shaky-excited.
