A certain cute Solaxxy hanging out on the moon~
@authorbaby‘s character Carmen for ArtFight 2018
urban fantasy, space opera, horror
Arghhhh, so sorry, I primarily use Tumblr mobile these days, so this got lost among my notes!!! Why are those even on the same screen in the app?? >_< Thanks so much for asking!
re: the ask prompts!
urban fantasy - have you ever met anyone you’re sure must secretly be some kind of magical creature? Not a magical creature per se, but the first person who came to mind was an archery camp counselor who had straight-up golden eyes and a devilish smile. I wasn’t a religious kid growing up, but even so I suspected this dude might be a demon.
horror - do you like haunted houses?I like fun, whimsical spookiness, but not scariness. Especially not jump scares. Not for me!
space opera - what outfit would you wear when conquering worlds? I think it would go a little something like this…..
Bow before me, worlds
Self study + bonus friendo
Another character from my D&D group. This one is Argus, a young, country bumpkin of a dwarf who’s just happy to have finally found the company of other dwarves in the city -- illicit gang activity aside.

Coffeeshop AU of a friend’s OC.
Exploring a character from Atun’s backstory -- the woman he left at the altar, and the reason he no longer has his big, glamorous tail. Despite her comments above, she is really quite nice. Unless you get in the way of her plans, as Atun unwittingly did.
Peacock character -> peacock studies
(bonus Meli)
Old, old char sheet for my current D&D character, Atun the peacock sorcerer. I’ve since nailed his stylization down a bit more, but it has an energy to it that I still like.
He hates being called a prick.

Some sketches from late 2016. Trying out different character types in Ghibli style.
Using a character from my D&D group to learn Clip Studio Paint’s animation tools.
Sitting study
Sitting Stock Pack 3 [ Basic Pose ] Chair - Pose 7 [ Basic Pose ] Chair - Pose 2 [ Basic Pose ] Chair - Pose 4 [ Basic Pose ] Chair - Pose 10
Reblogging all those old studies from 2011-2013 inspired me to do some more.
Facial Expression Reff Pose refs I - hands and face
J/k, here’s one in color.
Update, just for fun (okay, and because I love Meli’s transparent hair):

Holly and Miles: Autumn - Spring - Summer - Winter
I mentioned in the Autumn post that the 4 commissions span about 3 years, but the biggest gap between pictures was between Winter and Summer. I think it shows. I still like Winter a lot, but my style has definitely changed for the better. I need to relearn to draw clouds like that, though.
Another component of the 3 year span is that you can see all my different blog urls, haha!
I’m so glad Holly asked me to do all of these. It seems like each time she contacted me to do the next one, I was like, “Oh, I haven’t been drawing for a while…” She’s been single-handedly keeping me from getting too rusty, and continually giving me an excuse to push myself with poses, perspective, color, and lighting.
Here’s to a great 3 years, Holly, and many more to come!
The fourth installment of Holly’s seasonal commissions: Autumn! (See Spring, Summer, and Winter) It’s been so fun working with Holly—funny that it has been almost exactly 3 years since her first commission!
Since each of the other portraits features a different pose (sitting, reclining, and standing), I knew what this one’s had to be: jumping into a nice big leaf pile! Of course, for some reason I chose for it to be exactly the type of leaves I have the hardest time drawing. Then again, they’re the leaves I needed the most practice drawing, and boy, did I get it.
