I’m thinking very calmly about G’raha Tia sacrificing himself because he views himself as a tool in a grand narrative and when he first basically killed himself, he acted quickly so he couldn’t change his mind (and he wouldn’t have to face anyones grieffor him) and when he effectively killed himself again (from the perspective of the alternate future people) he threw himself into his duty so he wouldn’t have to face his grief (again) or have time to ponder theirs and then he spends all his time watching you from afar so he once more could remove himself from the world without facing anyone’s grief, but then despite it all he keeps on living. I need to write fanfic about this.
