The corridor of a traditional Japanese house is long and quiet.

On one side, wooden pillars and tatami mats glow with a warm, natural tone; on the other, an open garden lets greenery and light flow freely inside. Sunlight slants in from outdoors, stretching thin shadows across the floor, as if time itself has slowed.

Even without doing anything, simply standing in the corridor brings a natural sense of coolness—not the chill of cold air, but the kind of cool where the breeze seems to find its way in on its own.

A gentle wind passes through the paper sliding doors, leaves sway softly, and the wooden floor reflects a muted sheen. Footsteps are absorbed by the wood, leaving the scene clean, restrained, and quietly captivating.

Whether for photography or video, this space effortlessly conveys a feeling of calm, summer, and time moving just a little more slowly.

日式房屋的走廊，狹長而安靜，一側是木質廊柱與榻榻米的溫潤色澤，另一側則是通透的庭院與綠意。光線從屋外斜斜地灑進來，在地板上拉出細長的影子，空氣彷彿被拉慢了節奏。即使什麼都不做，只是靜靜站在走廊里，也能感受到一種天然的清涼感——不是冷，而是“風會自己走進來”的那種涼。

The photoshoot takes place at Lake Kawaguchi in the heart of autumn.

Crimson and golden leaves blanket the lakeside, turning the Japanese countryside into a living watercolor painting.

A soft morning mist drifts across the water, while the majestic Mount Fuji stands quietly in the distance—like a silent guardian wrapped in a gentle veil of sunlight.

Wooden cottages lining the path, the faint scent of harvested fields, and the breeze gliding over the lake all come together to create a world completely immersed in the warmth of fall.

Have you ever seen Japanese men sporting a fundoshi during festivals or summer celebrations? The fundoshi, especially the rokushaku fundoshi (six-shaku length), is a traditional Japanese loincloth that has been worn for centuries.

Far from being just underwear, the fundoshi represents a connection to Japan’s cultural heritage. It’s commonly worn at matsuri (festivals), by sumo wrestlers during training, or even as a symbol of masculine aesthetics in traditional art.
