I made this mostly for myself but I might as well share this. Here’s a height chart/comparison of Team Talon. The models are converted by me into MMD using my own scale (since the other OW MMD models have different scales).

Soulmate AU: The universe is a quasi-sentient being that guides two (or more) people to be together. At puberty, most people get a ‘bestowment’ that gives them a hint on who their soulmate is. Usually it’s an image in their head, or a specific item to look for, but in Siebren and Harold’s case, it’s a melody, the rarest bestowment of all. And they go decades hearing this song in their head, not knowing what it means, driving them crazy. And just when they’ve given up and have resigned completely to their careers, they finally meet. And everything is utterly silent. They sing their songs, Harold first, then Siebren’s, and they’re different but they harmonise perfectly. They’ve finally found their soulmate. After all this time.

Reverse AU: Harold is the one with crazy cosmic powers, and Siebren is the one long thought to be dead. Instead of dying on the moon, Harold uses the last of his strength to destroy this gravity generator that powers the Horizon base. It works, propelling him forward, but not before triggering the creation of a miniature black hole. He’s rescued by Lucheng and then taken to Earth to be experimented on, his powers escalating out of control because of his fractured mind. Only when Talon saves him does he regain control. Talon convinces him that they’re a good organisation with only the best intentions. His powers are the same as Sigma’s, only instead of ‘hearing the universe’s melody’, he ‘sees the universe’s canvas’. The universe paints swatches of colour when it wants to communicate with him, and he can 'paint’ his own picture when he uses his abilities.

His first mission in Talon: rescue Dr. Siebren de Kuiper (and his research) from the international space station. Also, his codename would either by ‘Apollo’ (because Horizon lunar colony, and also Apollo 13) or ‘Omega’ (because he’s the last scientist alive from Horizon). 

If Harold was in a wheelchair, you can bet your bottom that they’re both gonna soup it up to become an ULTRA mega wheelchair. It’ll be floating, and it’ll have laser guns, and it’ll have built-in speakers and disco lights and…yeah, it won’t just be any old wheelchair.

But also, I just love imagining Sigma pushing Harold around on the wheelchair, taking him places and just being there for him. And whenever Harold wants to whisper something into Sigma’s ear, he’ll just give a hand signal, and Sigma lifts him up so they’re at the same height, and it’s a cute thing for them but everybody finds it creepy. 

Despite his gentle demeanour, he doesn’t have many friends. Scientists aren’t the friendliest bunch in general, let alone elite space scientists.

Harold Winston has an enormous sweet tooth. That is the only reason he knows anything about a kitchen.

Winston MAY or MAY NOT have taken his ‘primal fury’ from Harold. Though Harold is a relatively calm and collected guy, he has very specific triggers. He can take whatever nasty words sent his way, but if someone touches a hair on a person (or animal) he cares about, he WILL get angry.

And trust me, angry Harold doesn’t look like much, until he slaps you across the face with the force of a sledgehammer. 

Harold hates headwear as much as Siebren hates footwear. It doesn’t usually come up, but when it does, Harold can be surprisingly vocal about his aversion. (He doesn’t like things to ruin his hair, OK?)

Harold’s half-American half-Chinese, but he grew up mostly in the American South. Thus, he had a relatively strong Southern accent when he was a kid. He was embarrassed about it though so he got a coach to give him elocution lessons.

That being said, in times of stress or affection, it does occasionally slip out. 

Sigrold stuff

Siebren found out about Harold’s southern accent during one particularly romantic night when Harold called him darlin’. Siebren teased him about it until he learned why. Now he tries to convince Harold to embrace his natural accent.

Siebren’s lab and room are both a fair distance from Harold’s, but he comes up with many different excuses to visit Harold. And then when he ran out of excuses, Harold came up with random excuses of his own to continue to bring Siebren over.

When Winston and Hammond got older, Siebren and Harold would often take them into their rooms for ‘family night’. Hammond doesn’t remember them, but Winston does.

Harold once found the recipe to Siebren’s mom’s recipe for Stroopwafels and made them for Siebren’s birthday. They were a bit soggy, and the ratio of caramel to dough was off, but Siebren still got teary anyway.

On Earth, they rarely cooked. Harold has a secret knack for finding great restaurants. Siebren’s personal opinion is that the company is what makes his food so delicious. Also, Harold might have a six sense when it comes to finding restaurants.

Siebren: It’s over, Harold. I have the high ground.

Harold: You underestimate my power

Those two don’t want to have children, because, quote “a family can be two men and 30 or so gorillas”. 

Harold has taken literally thousands of animal selfies over the years. When Sigma came into Harold’s life, he became designated photographer. 

Literally Harold’s excuse is “your arms are longer than mine” and Siebren cannot think of a response. So he’s the cameraman now. 

They have regular ‘dad joke’ contests all the time, where the loser is the first person to cringe. In the battle between Harold and Sigma, the losers are usually the other scientists.

They often go on karaoke dates, but only when they’re back at Earth. They tried hooking up a karaoke machine back on Horizon One and literally all the gorillas started hooting in pain. 

If Sigma has a decent singing voice, Harold’s is absolutely horrendous. If someone starts playing “I’ll make a man out of you” from Mulan, evacuate the building. 

One time when they were hanging out in each other’s room, “Careless Whispers” started playing randomly. Harold happened to be reading a romance book out loud at the time. Sigma has not stopped teasing him about it ever since.

Harold swore revenge on Sigma. ‘Revenge’ turned out to be him pulling a fat pile of dirty jokes and reciting them out loud until Sigma blushed. 

Sigma joked once about hiring a pickup truck with a piano strapped on it so he can recreate the music video to Vanessa Carlton’s “A thousand miles”. Harold actually organised it for his birthday, to Sigma’s surprise and joy. The video of it apparently still exists somewhere on the internet.

Will this meme be outdated by the time they go up to space? Yes
