It's baby Mina's first new year!

She is not yet a month old and the weather in Gaza is endangering her. (yes, even in warmer climates, the winter is an extremely vulnerable period for newborns.)

Her mother, Amal (@amal-ashour-new), and Amal's other daughter, Mariam, are also struggling in their cold tent, unable to rent an apartment.

Mariam, baby Mina, and I are doing everything we can to survive in conditions no family should ever have to face.

Winter in Gaza is harsh and bitter alone, but with a baby, especially newborns, it can be extremely dangerous.

Babies get cold easily as they don't have the built up fat to keep them warm. This also means that they go hungry quickly as well.
