Religious freedom is incredibly important to me as a female pastor, as a lesbian pastor. I couldn't do what I do without it. Colorado's Religious Exemption bill is unnecessary, vague, and in fact dangerous. The thorny issues of biblical translation and interpretation for me today lead me to include lots of resources in my work of helping the Bible come to life for our people here. When I was at the Div. School, I only ever used the NRSV. I've since expanded my repertoire to include The Message (but wish it had more inclusive language), and my new favorite translation: the Common English Bible. I've had the thin NRSV IN the middle of the stack since my Div School days. Bought it from clearance section of Cokesbury bookstore back then. The Greek NT is from my college days, and the Biblia Hebraica is from when I took Hebrew at VDS. #VDSAlumLife (at Pikes Peak MCC)

I have--literally--miles to go before I sleep. I'm one of five clergy well-being coaches for my denomination (Metropolitan Community Churches). My goal is to walk five miles a day so I've got some work to do before the end of the day! Magazines for which I still have an actual physical subscription. I still love to read these days but I do it mostly through my iPad and apps. The world has definitely changed since I graduated!
