You waddled your way over to the lounge, coffee in hand. As your husband, Remus and Aurora, your daughter were looking at the Christmas tree; underneath was packed with presents, as Santa came the night beforehand. Your bulging stomach was making normal activities a little harder, but being a family was the only thing yourself and Remus wanted. Sure, it took him a little longer to warm up to the idea; but now a few months away from having your second child- it was clear he loved it.
Aurora noticed your presence, jumping around, talking about how Santa had come. She asked if she could open them now, you laughed, giving her permission. Remus sat beside you, pulling you in for a kiss. You leaned your head on his shoulder, his hand moving to your stomach. “I can’t wait to meet our little baby,” Remus said elated, “I can’t either love. Only a few more months.” Your daughter was now showing you both a doll that she had gotten, this was a literal dream come true. Remus was your husband, one child with another on the way.
“Daddy! There’s something for you!” Aurora ran over to where you both were sitting, passing the box over to Remus. His brows furrowed, looking over at you, “What’s this?” You laughed, “Just open it.” Remus cleared his throat, opening up the box, scoffing as the box wouldn’t open. You started to gently caress your stomach, fulling knowing what was in the box. It was a blue, baby onesie. “You’re kidding, babe?” Remus shook his head, his mouth hanging open as he looked on at the present. “Mumma’s new man?” He laughed, turning to you, “It’s a boy?” You placed a hand on his knee, nodding.
He grabbed your coffee, placing it on the table. Pulling you in for a short, excited kiss. Remus’ face lit up, smiling from ear to ear. He attempted to say something, but it just came out inaudible. You smiled too, he has always wanted a boy. “I- I can’t-” He buried his face in his hands, “Found out last week, love.” Remus sat back up, a few tears forming in the crease of his eye. You pulled him in for another kiss, more passionate & meaningful then beforehand. “Gross! Ewwww.” Aurora interrupted.
Remus looked over at your daughter, wiping his eyes before lowering himself to the ground. “Princess, you know the baby right?” He gestured to your stomach, she responded by jumping on the couch with you. Placing her ear to your stomach, “Of course I do, dad!” She was so excited to have a baby sibling, although it took a little while to get her to understand. “Well, it’s a boy.” Her face lit up in the way Remus’ did, she looked just like him. Her eccentric laugh filled the room, she did a lap around the room, jumping around with such energy only a four-year-old would have.
She dove into Remus’ arms, which he started a tickle fight with her. Their laughs filled the room, making it feel like home even more. A wave of heartburn came over you, pulling your chest the pain radiating to your back. “Remus…” You weakly said. Remus ushered Aurora over to open more presents. He hopped back onto the couch gently, starting to rub your back ever so gently. “What can I do?” He cooed, you took a heavy breath, “Heartburn tabs.” He quickly made his way retrieving them for you.
Who would’ve thought that you’d end up with Remus? Back when you were teenagers, running around causing mischief, helping Remus each month. His monthly deal had gotten easier, but still hard. Nowadays, you & Aurora stay with Lily and her children whilst the rest of the Marauders deal with Remus. There is nothing else in the world that could top what you already have. A beautiful, supportive husband with a few young children.
Snapping out of your thoughts, as the growing baby made his presence known. You yelled for Aurora, who quickly ran to your side. You grabbed her hand, placing it on your stomach where he was kicking. You both laughed, “Is that the baby?” She puzzled, “Yes, sweetheart.” Remus joined the two of you on the couch, leaning on your shoulder. The three of you marvelling over the baby that would soon join the rest of you.
