The Humane Society of the United States will host its “To the Rescue! New York” on November 13th at Cipriani to celebrate the organization’s animal rescue efforts. The event will be hosted by Ali Wentworth, chaired by Howard Berk, and special guests will include Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi. Guests will enjoy cocktails, dinner, an awards ceremony and auction, as well as a special performance by Christina Grimmie.

New performance alert; 13th, Friday in New York City!

Although Christina Grimmie was seen by many performing songs on YouTube, it was her participation as a contestant on season six of NBC’s The Voice that took her career to bigger heights. After joining Adam Levine’s team, Grimmie came in third place. She called her experience on the show “unreal.”

“Honestly, I would go back in time to do it all over again. They really helped me professionally as an artist here to grow, and help me in my performing and writing.”

Speaking of her coach Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, Christina Grimmie says Levine instilled in her to stick to her own direction and decide for herself her next step.  “Adam would never give direct audience. His overall how to be in this business is the more advice he gave me. Don’t let anyone tell you the direction you need to go.”

A few weeks ago she was a headliner at the iHeartRadio Festival with posters of her face everywhere, but her focus now is on new music. “I am strictly working the music right now. I am trying to write everyday and trying to choose the next path for music. I want to get an album. I can’t even say when. I keep getting behind. I am strictly working on new music. I’d like to get a single out soon.”

She will keep her calendar open though during Grammys, as her biggest dream is to sign on the Grammys stage, and eventually be nominated. “First it was iHeartRadio, now it’s the Grammy. Let’s go!,” she says with a laugh.

The way Christina Grimmie is building her career, the Grammys are no joke and may be her next step very soon.
