Alternative Iris

So last Friday night (06-03-15), after a tough week at the day job, it was time to have a few beers and listen to some great track from one of my favourite bands, Guns & Roses, I was invited by a buddy Allan Burls from another band I have shot before the mighty Motherload! Allan also happens to be the bassist in the excellent Appetite for Illusion! And they certainly delivered the goods that night, getting the crowd behind them straight away with hits like “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Mr Brownstone”, and the performance just carried on in that excellent from all evening!

They were a pleasure to shoot, and brilliant to listen to! If they ever put on a show near you I thoroughly recommend you go and see them!!

So back in the depths of the beerfest that is the Xmas break, on Saturday 27th Dec 2014, The Grudge were on the bill at the Unicorn Camden, alongside Riddles and the Awesome Asomvel, it was a great night but could have been so much better if the PA and the sound engineer had been introduced to each other some time before the gig started!! but apart from that the lads put on a top set!!

Last Friday night, even though i wasn't feeling to good, i went and photographed four excellent bands at the Phoenix Bar High Wycombe, it was well worth how rough i have been feeling ever since! Those Bands really tore the roof of the place!! there were most definitely RIFFS! 

First up were Beardmore

Followed by the great Born Idol

Up next were the mighty Grudge

And last but by no means least where headliners Motherload, who were there promoting their new E.P.

Even though i was feeling quite ill, i had said i would photograph the nights gig put on by Neil Alternator ( Alternatorgigs.co.uk ) and i am so glad that i did!! It was a top night of rock!! Riffs aplenty, and more facial hair than you could shake a rather large bottle of beard oil at!!

On the Line up for the night were Beardmore, Born Idol, The Grudge and showcasing their new EP were the headliners Motherload.

I know it was a couple of weeks ago, but i am a busy man.....here is a few of the images from "The Grudge's" set at this years Hobgoblin Halloween bash!!

So its my first day off work and after a 14 hour sleep, i feel great. So its back to editing all the rest of the photos i took at Hard Rock Rising 2014 at the weekend.

I am celebrating another year of being alive!! at the Hobgoblin High Wycombe.

it also happens to coincide with "Hobfest" an annual live music event featuring local bands!

So it was another excellent day of rock at Scorpios High Wycombe on the third and final day of this years Hard Rock Rising!!

With fantastic performances from all the bands attending, i especially liked White Pigeon and Sons of Icarus 

all the rest of the images from all three days of Hard Rock Rising 2014, will be up on this website soon, Friday's bands Hell's Gazelles, Born Idol and Meansteed are up already! i do hope that everybody who went, enjoyed all the music and showmanship as much as i did!! and i would like to thank Neil Alternator for sorting out a top weekend for me, and Scorpios Bar for hosting it!!

So it was another excellent day of rock at Scorpios High Wycombe on the third and final day of this years Hard Rock Rising!!

So onto day 2 of Hard Rock Rising at Scorpios in High Wycombe!

and it so did not disappoint!! Massive energy thought from all the bands, big shout out to my pal Davy Moulster and the rest of The Grudge!! it was a damn fine show!!

Stoneghost were also massively impressive, the lead singer Jason Smith gives off more energy when he is performing than a whole box of Duracell Bunnies!!

After a very busy and tiring week at work, its time for some Rock to get that little spring back into my step for the weekend!!

and that's exactly what i am getting thanks to Neil Alternator ( http://www.alternatorgigs.co.uk ) and Scorpios bar here in High Wycombe, a 3 day rock festival showcasing some of the best emerging Hard Rock talent in the UK!

Last night it was "Hell's Gazelles" " Born Idol" and "Mean Steed" all three bands were excellent, just what i needed to blow my cobwebs away!!
