Downeast, Maine 2026
We just got back from our summer trip in Maine and now we're thinking of making a move Downeast. We stayed right on Route 3 at the Colonial Inn in Ellsworth - we wouldn't stay anywhere else. We hit Jordan Pond, climbed Penobscot Mountain and hiked along the Otter Cliffs. We climbed Cadillac Mountain and explored the Island, took the trip to Winter Harbor and Schoodic, saw the stars over Mount Desert Island from Lemoine Beach and saw some old friends from our trip last year. We took the Bar Harbor Ghost Tour and ate the best food. We took about 1500 pictures but these were some of the highlights.
