And he's just repeated that depressing schedule over and over jumping between "well fuck those guys im doing so good without them (lie)" and "Why am i the only one still here? what the fuck went wrong"
Important to note that studying the documents can also mean just staring at the words taking in no information but being too stubborn to take a proper break. He shoots hoops from his desk alot. Hes gotten REALLY good
Somewhere along the way Additional Voices signed up for the resistance and made it his one goal to get closer with this sad and odd old man. He weasels his way into the lab but not much changes. He helps with everything he can both as an assistant and as a friend but Bubby doesnt notice how much Additional Voices is actually doing for him.
Hes like basically a caretaker. Not saying that Bubby isn't perfectly capable at his grand age of like 80 but he needs the company even if he wont admit or acknowledge it. He is also encouraged to be more healthy and leave the lab more which does wonders for him.
Ngl i saw the post that said that Additional Voices was Bubbys scandalously younger boytoy and i cant recover because its too funny to imagine them being anything else
