An open letter to @hipitipi79
Sunday afternoon at 17:25 I received a message from this Tumblr @hipitipi79 with edited photos of Israeli children and victims from the Holocaust. And with this text:
"Supporting the barbarian balestinian terrorists is same as supporting the Nazis ‼️"
So, since I take you're an ignorant person, I'm going to give you a history lesson.
When the United Nation decided that the Jews should come back to Palestine, that land was not without people. In the UN resolution 181 that calles for "partition of Palestine into Arab and Jewish states with the city of Jerusalem as a corpus separatum, and should be governed under special international regime. The Jews accepted this, Arabs didn't. The reason to that was what happened in 1917. The Balfour Declaration of November 2nd 1917 stated British support for "The establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people" In the period after 1917 immigration of Jews to Palestine increased and caused some problems locally. Arabs gave a counter proposal that said that only Jews who had immigrated before the 1917 Balfour Declaration and their decendents would be citizens of the state. This didn't win the Jewish favour.
Palestine had been governed by Great Britain since 1922. After the WWII, they were exhausted from the war, and brough the Palestine Jewish "issue" to the United Nations. And on May 14th 1948, people living on the land had been thrown out, and the state of Israel was founded. When I say thrown out, quite a few fled in fear. On April 9th 1948 the sionist militia groups Irgun and Lehi entered the Palestinian village Deir Yassin west of Jerusalem, and massacred 254 people of the 600 people living there. This was a plan from the future government of Israel to, who deployed Plan Dalet to gain control over as much land as they could before the upcoming declaration coming the next month. The task was to chase people out of the villages in the area, but they wanted to set example so people would flee easily. Deir Yassin doesn't exist anymore, but the Jewish neighbourhood Kfar Sha'ul in modern Jerusalem is built there after the massacre.
On December 11th 1948, the UN resolution 194 was passed. It granted the right for Palestinian refugees who wanted to live in peace to return to their homes. The Israeli government had to make sure that they accepted the return of the refugess "as soon as possible", and pay retribution to the people who had to flee their land to make space for the Jews. Since 1948 this case has been up in the UN council several times, and nothing happens because Israel doesn't want it, and the US veto every attempt to pressure Israel to do what they promised 75 years ago.
The country was divided, but Israel started to occupy land that belonged to the Palestinians. They killed and threw people out, and little by little Palestine shrunk, and it's still shrinking.
Have you ever heard about International Law? That grant people under occupation the right to fight for their freedom. And those laws also make it illegal to build on occupied land. If you live in the east Jerusalem in a house owned by your family for generations, one day you can find all your belongings on the street. The Jewish government has given your house to orthodox Jews who are not working but studying their religion. I can never become a Palestinian. But if I convert to Judaism, I have right to take land in Palestine. Set a trailer in the middle of someones fields, and the government will make sure that they fence and barbwire up that stolen land, and send patrols there so the poor farmer who had crops on that land don't come and try to chase you away. They also bulldoze olive trees that's been there since Jesus walked in the area to damage the income to Palestinian families owning the trees and land they are on.
There are 2,4 million people in Gaza. The average age is 19. Even for someone ignorant, it should be clear that a huge part of that population are children. UNRWA is the UN organistation that take care of Palestinian refugees in the MIddle East. They have people in Gaza and the West Bank as well. More than 60 of them have been killed since this last war started. They have food storages, because people in Gaza are mostly not allowed to work. They are not allowed to go fishing, Israeli military patrol the coastline, and open fire if people try to go fishing. A very small number of people can leave Gaza to work outside. But 70% of the population needs help to survive.
Like I said, people under occupation has the right to fight for their freedom. The Ukrainian people have the right to fight, my people had the right to fight during the war here when we were under occupation for 5 year. Try to imagine what it's like after 75 years. Anyways, the people who want to be free, make home made missiles and shoot them onto occupied land. Most of the time, it lands outside the settlement. Still, the Israeli close the water supplies, electricity and food supplies. The bomb schools, hospitales, UN food storages. Then they find the people who shot the missile. They kill that person and the entire family. Then they damage the community, bomb parents houses, aunts and uncles houses, cousins houses. And they have snipers who put bullets in babies heads.
Not true? I have been there. I have seen it with my own eyes. I have been on transports trying to get injured patients out of the country and been shot at, even if it was okayed by UN, international Red Cross and the Israeli government. Hospitals run on diesel aggregates, they don't have fuel, they can't move patients with big injuries because most of the equipment won't work. And how do you evacuate 400 patients when the military is ready to shoot you down.
You sent a picture with a pile of toys, saying that 40 children had been killed in Israel. About 4000 children have been killed in Gaza during this military action. Are they worth less than the 40 in Israel?
I want to come back to International Law for a moment. It states that you have to differ between military targets and civilians. You're not allowed to target humanitarian aid or properties, here are food storages, schools, hospitals and clinics included, just in case you didn't know that already. It also regulates the forced used, and it coveres the principle of human right. Even Israel has to follow the Geneva convetions and the Haag conventions, but they don't give a flying fuck. EVERY time they have bombed this small landstrip into rubbles and given collective punishment to an entire people, the US veto against any critics about the use of force and human suffering of the civilians. Every time.
Israel use tactics of terror, and officials say that they want to erase the Palestinan people from the surface of the Earth. And you're upset because some people try to fight that? In war you do things to try to make changes. People are trapped in Gaza. They were told to evacuate the northern part, and then shot the people who went south. They keep the gates closed, so people can't escape wether they want to or not. The Israeli government also bombed the news station, killed a few journalists and jammed the mobile network so people couldn't call or share this genoside with the people outside the Gaza strip. We have medical teams waiting to get in and help. they have been waiting since the day this started. Israel won't let them in, they have been there several times before, helping with medical supplies and trauma suregeries.
Loss of lives is never good. War is never good. You live on occupied land. When Europeans arrived in the Americas, they killed the bigger part of the native people, either by violence or by spreading illnesses. Mind you, the first settlers were religious fundamentalists that couldn't find their place in Europe. How would you feel if you had to give up your land because the world had decided that, and the rest of you would have to go back to where you originally came from. I'm pretty sure it would be an uproar. Or if peaceful Canada would take a piece of your country and declare it Canadian? It's like you never ever think about the other part. They would have been safe if they stayed off other people's properties. Israel break International Law every day. They have an active apartheid regime going. And by the way, your link between Hamas and nazis is not flying well with me. It's completely different. What Israel is doing with the Palestinians? Well, that's is more like it. They put the people behind locked gates, humiliate them, starve them, take away all human right. And the world is saying that Israel has the right to defend themselves. This war creates generations of hate against Israel, but the right wing lunatics will never get that.
How are the Palestinians living today. In Jordan and Lebanon, they are still living in refugee camps. they are state less, can't buy land or build a house, if you get an education as a doctor, you're not allowed to work as that. It was a little bit different in Syria. Still stateless, but you could buy land and build house if you wanted to, and you could use your education to work. Refugee camps in Lebanon are still guarded by armed military personell, and they can't leave or enter as they wish. On September 16th, 1982, falangist soldiers entered the refugee camps Shaba and Shatila in Lebanon with support of Israel and massacred hundreds, if not thousands as well as mutilating, torturing and raping women and children. Number of victims have never been agreed upon, but a journalist from my country brought back photos he took. He estimated that between 2000 and 3000 men, women and children had been murdered. And Israeli soldiers watched the massacre and made sure that people couldn't get away.
Oh, and did you know that your country brought 1600 nazi scientists to the US after the war? The most known one is Wernher von Braun who was a member of the SS and developped the feared V2 rocket for Hitler. He was one of the brains behind the Apollo program, but the did a lot of harm during the war.
Oh, and a note at the end of my rant. The nazi regime created their fight against the Jews based on the American segregation laws...
SO... If any of my followers give a 100% support to Israel, please unfollow and block me, because you're not good people. I have sympathy for the Israeli people and their losses, but the atocities the Israeli government collectively inflicting on the Palestinians are way worse.
