Adding more details to one of the chambers in my castle tower dollhouse.
The coffered ceiling I sculpted is now painted black with grey drybrush. I love this kind of architecture and I've always wanted to make something like this. Gorgeous.
Also sculpted some more beams on the walls of the great hall. Can't wait to stain them in oak colour and enjoy it!

O livro traz imagens de fachadas feitas pela fotógrafa em sete estados do Nordeste do Brasil – Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Sergipe e Bahia – entre os anos de 1976 e 1995. O livro, publicado originalmente em 1987, tem textos de Ariano Suassuna, Caetano Veloso e Jean Baudrillard. As fotografias de Anna Mariani apresentam as fachadas sempre em um ângulo frontal, sem a presença de pessoas e sem a interferência da paisagem. Essas casas, caprichosas e simples, falam também de um modo de vida singelo e consideravelmente autossuficiente. (...) As pinturas à base de cal dessas casas, elaboradas sobre fachadas e platibandas, é resultado da transparência e da luminosidade que só é possível graças às práticas tradicionais de caiação, técnica que aos poucos tem sido substituída por novos materiais e processos sem as mesmas características.
Started building the cardboard base for the late medieval coffered ceiling in my castle tower dollhouse. This is the last large surface area I'll have to make!! So excited!!
Can't wait to cover it with some sculpted details.
Building it up with a few layers of cardboard.
I'm loving it so far. It is great to see something different than the bare wood I've seen the last few years while working on this dollhouse.

First layers of colourful paints: decorating the walls of the top floor of my castle tower dollhouse.
Enjoying the steps I'm taking, after seeing a dull white room for years.

I have found the right design for the library walls: maximalistic gotic wall paintings.
Some of my ideas and inspiration.
Before installing the second LED light strip, I have to finish painting.
After this first layer of paint, probably many will follow: black and/or brown washes plus highlights? I'm not sure yet.
I'm building my dream castle tower dollhouse in 1/12 scale; mostly sculpted paperclay. The doll in the first photo is one of seven inhabitants of the castle tower.
First floor: armoury with blacksmith shop.
Second floor: the Great Hall.
Third floor: the secret library with vaulted ceiling.
