        This was where she could see his good opinion of her potentially fall in an instant. Clara was determined to get through to him unlike all of the people who’d tried before her.

     — and she saw nothing. The Doctor      could tell, now, that she really was just      another of the humans keeping him here.

The Master took a step forward, then opened his arms and beckoned them forward.

"Now dear there will be plenty of time to explain all of this to you on the way to my ship, you remember my ship, don’t you? I helped design it. The Valiant!" The Master laughed as he mockingly continued."Oh… but if two Doctor’s are both on the Valiant, then that would create a paradox, how would we fix that? Oh, how about another paradox machine!?"

His arm moved back to point them in the direction of the TARDIS that was now being taken away.

"Come quietly, it always makes things hurt less, don’t you think?"

"I'll come, but you answer my question first. How did we get here, and where is here? When?" 

His past self might currently be incapacitated, and Martha was probably already halfway around the world, but Jack might be there. And he needed all the help he could get, regardless.
