Apple Spice Cake
So easy and tasty and autumnal. đđ
Ingredients:
3 medium size apples
1 cup of flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 egg
1/4 cup of oil
13 tablespoons of sugar
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 each of any other fall spices you have on hand â nutmeg, ground ginger, ground allspice or ground cloves (optional)
Mix your egg, oil, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and other spices together until fully combined.
Peel and slice your apples. Place cut pieces in the spice mixture and cover them as you go.
Mix together baking soda and flour. Stir through spice mixture with a fork until all dry ingredients are absorbed.
Pour mixture into a small greased cake pan (like a 9â circle or 8x8 square).
Bake for 40 minutes at 350 Fahrenheit.
Look at those apple chunks. đđ

This reminds me of home.
How to make microwave breakfasts way less depressing
Because you deserve to eat well even if you donât have time to, donât want to, or canât cook.
You start with something like this:
How very ... beige.
Word to the wise, look in the refrigerated sections of your store first, particularly of you want eggs or egg-subs as part of your meal â the texture is usually better than frozen.
Heat it according to package instructions â you donât want it to overheat and be left with dried-out starches or styrofoam-esque eggs.
Ok, so once youâve done that, youâre left with the hot version of what you saw above. Now to make it edible.
Have a starch?
Add a drizzle of olive oil (or melted butter or margarine)
Spice it up! Start with salt and pepper and then add on based on what you have. Suggestions include: garlic or onion powder, paprika, chives, cayenne powder, red pepper flakes, or any flavored salt.
Eggs? You can:
Salt and pepper as normal
Bland? Sprinkle a little cheese on top
Or add a little heat: red pepper flakes or a dash of tobasco sauce
Dry eggs despite your best efforts? Add a tiny amount of mayo (regular or vegan) and stir through hot eggs for added moisture
You can also add in extra veggies, bacon bits, or whatever else sounds good. Just because it wasnât included doesnât mean it wouldnât be good. đ¤ˇââď¸
And the finished product! Not bad for a three minute breakfast.

If youâre an adult, do the stuff you couldnât as a kid.
Like, me and my sister went to a museum, and they had an extra exhibit of butterflies. But it cost ÂŁ3. So we sighed, walked past, then stopped. We each had ÂŁ3. We could see the butterflies. And we did it was great. We followed it up with an ice-cream as well because Mum and Dad werenât there to say no.
I was driving back from a work trip with 2 other people in their early 20s, and we drove past a MacDonalds. One of the others went âAww man, Iâd love a McFlurry.â And the guy driving pulled in to the drive through. It was wild. But it was great.
I went to a park over the weekend and I was thinking âMan, Iâd love to hire one of those bikes and cycle round the park.â It took me a few minutes to go âWait, I can hire one of those bikes!â
I guess what Iâm saying is, those impulsive things you wanted to do as a kid - see the dinosaur exhibit, play in the fountains with the other kids, lie in the shade for 2 hours - you can do when youâre an adult. You have to deal with a whole lot of other bull, but at least you can indulge your inner 8 year-old.
Found this at Aldi...
Looks promising.
And the final product. He isnât perfect, but who is? On a movie night snack plate with dried apricots, dark chocolate and tortilla chips (that I totally turned into single serve nachos later).

Here is a list of some YouTube ASMR ambiences/soundscapes (theyâre all hyperlinked, so click away!) Unlike traditional ASMR, these videos do not feature any people. Talented YouTubers have used software to create rendered environments with layered sounds, with many of these ambiences inspired from fantasy to others based in reality. I find music with lyrics to be distracting sometimes, but these are great background noises for focusing, studying, doing homework, and even for relaxing. Enjoy and good luck âĄ

This is so great for working from home, especially if you donât like silence. Or if youâre self-employed and usually work in coffee shops but canât because of the big you-know-what.
Also, adding my favorite background track:
Cheese biscuits
These are a reworking of an old family recipe by my great-aunt Evelyn, who was pretty awesome by all accounts. Sheâd make huge batches of these to give out as Christmas presents. Tasty, cheesy, and spicy, theyâre great as party food (would be good on a snack board with apples) or just for snacking.
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 stick melted butter or margarine
2 cups of grated, extra sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (can substitute cayenne pepper if you really like things spicy)
Mix ingredients together and form a ball of dough. Roll the dough out to pinky finger thickness, cut out with an inch wide cookie cutter.
Canât be bothered with all that? Just pinch bits of the mix off of the ball and roll into gumball-size balls. Place on a greased baking sheet and flatten with a fork.
Bake at 350 Fahrenheitďżź for 10 minutes.
