“I have no clue. Act natural? I don’t know how to act natural. Point one of them out maybe? I have this sixth tracker sense.” 

Allie stood stone still when she hear the words. She closed her eyes and shook her head. “No… it couldn’t be. They weren’t back.” She thought to herself.

She felt a nudge and heard Alexa’s voice, looking over. “Y-yeah… yeah I did. Suddenly I feel sick.”

“What the hell are we supposed to do? We’re grouped up in here like lambs awaiting the slaughter,” she pointed out. “We can’t prove that they’re here and if we say anything we cause panic and hysteria, and maybe people think we’re paranoid? So…should we investigate on our own…but how…?”

Allie Couldn’t help but chuckle as she leaned over the counter and looked at them. “Hey… I’ve been calling the baby a monster or alien since I found out, so it works. They smell good, so I’ll bet they taste good. And that’s all that matters.” She shrugs. “My mom used to tell me they uglier the baking the better it tastes.”

“I’m pretty sure they are cool enough to eat. I’ll take the first bite though, just to make sure they are edible. Safety first and all that.” She chuckled to herself as she picked up the ugliest in the batch and took a bite. “Yes, they taste much better than they look. Help yourself to as many as you want. Really they’re all for you. I quite like that saying to be honest. It makes me feel better about my ugly cookies. Is your mom still around?” she asked curiously.

“That’s good… I think?” Allie smiled and shrugged. “I can be…. fairly transparent. We… we all have our own things.” She nodded. “I look forward to meeting everyone else. If they’re as kind as you, then I’ll be great.”

“Yes, we do.” She certainly had enough ghosts of her past still haunting her. “Okay good, well I’ll see you tomorrow?”

Allie nodded and handed over her phone. “So just me? Okay. I’m assuming they’re good snacks? Cause you know… cravings.” She laughed nervously. “I don’t have have a twin, nor is there anyone stowed away in my basement. I mean, I have some dark history, but not that. I can be an open book if I need to be.”

“They better be or I just might turn them all into toads.” She teased. “Alright well then you’re already off to a better intro than our last hopeful.” Chuckling, she shrugged her shoulders. “Transparency would be helpful to build trust but you don’t have to lay your cards out straight away. “Well you’re incredibly sweet. And the adorable rambling just makes me smile even more.” She nudged the other woman with her arm. “Uh.. all of it. I feel like I’m kind of a mess already and I’m afraid I’m gonna ruin this kid. Or it’s gonna hate me. What if it hates that I’m a witch? Or just me in general. Oh my god, who is word vomiting now?” Allie let out a sigh and nodded. “I have yeah, I mean I know it’s a baby. Somehow calling it an alien makes it easier?”

“You think my rambling is adorable? I think it’s atrocious but since it’s making you smile it might make a reappearance.” Beau gave the other woman a gentle smile. “I don’t know much about mothering a child, but I have a mother and am a former child, so what I can say is, ask yourself this can I whole heartedly and unconditionally love my child? Can I put them first? Provide for them? And weigh all decisions reasonably when it comes to their wellbeing? If a child is loved and taken care of there’s no room for hate. No mom has it all figured out but the most important things are loving them, supporting them and providing for them.”

“No mini van. Not happening. I’m not going to be THAT mom. No, I have a very reasonable suv. It’s small but it’s mine.” Allie grinned, “it’s big enough to haul us around if need be. I’m not super sure it’s human, I just hope it doesn’t try to kill me from the inside out if thats the case.”

“However you approach the role, you’re going to do it well. I’ve seen you act before, it’s really amazing to watch, so I’ve got 100% faith you’re going to rock this.” She smiled sincerely and then held her hands up in defense when Hayden’s tone changed. “Things can be amazing right now. I wasn’t trying to… start anything. Just checking. And yes, we can certainly keep it that way.” She hugged her cousin, “sorry, guess that maternal instinct is already creeping in.”

“You sure? They are practical. So, I’ve heard,” Hayden teased. “And a small SUV? But how are you going to bus around the entire soccer team when it’s your turn for carpool?” She asked, flashing the other a little smile. “And… that’s optimistic of you.”

“Thanks, Als. I hope so. I just um, I want to get it right. Especially since this time fans will have season 1 to compare it to and boy will they,” Hayden trailed off, knowing that it would be coming. Any show that swaps out an actor during their second season is practically asking for critics to analyze every scene. “I know you weren’t and I appreciate it, I do. I just am, um,  kind of hoping Vancouver can be a fresh start, you know? I get it. Just, uh, do me a favor and save the parenting for the alien, deal?”

“Deal. I’m proud of you, you know that?” Allie asked, nudging the other with her arm. “And I know I’ve said it a bunch already, but man oh man, how I’ve missed you.”

“TMZ was indeed correct. That child is gorgeous. And seeing you this happy with something from them, a promise and wish granted, you’re kind of changing my mind about doubting them, not going to lie.” Allie smiled. “I guess if they’re out granting wishes again, I’ll make sure to ask for something good.”

“Happy, slightly freaked out, and confused, but yeah. I am really happy. I have a little baby boy now,” She said, her whole face lighting up at the thought. “And oh yeah? What would you ask for? And you know, you don’t exactly have to wait for the alliance to come around. I know a genie or two, who might be able to help you out, depending on what it is.”

“I’d like that. Is tomorrow afternoon okay with you?” Allie asked, pulling out her phone and setting a reminder.

May I?” She held her hand out for to take her phone and type in her address. “No need to bring anything, Masie and Karen tend to go overboard and bring snacks and drink, so just bring yourself. “I was a little nervous about doing that whole wish thing, so I didn’t do it, but I might consider it if they offer again.” Allie shrugged. “You got a house? Like decked out and ready to move in? Not bad.”
