Lost little lonely girl

“Oh, definitely. Can’t have a movie day without a ton of junk food!”

“Exactly.  I knew this was destined to be a good night.” Allie smiled, heading off to the grocery store so they could get the junk food.

“See, I knew I kept you around for a reason.” She teased.

“Glad we finally figured out what it was.”

“Well, how could I say no to that?” He chuckled.

“I was hoping you would say that.”

Paul smiled a bit and shrugged. “I am not sure I’m the best at the mushy love stuff…” He confessed. It was sheer blessing and miracle that he had gotten hold of Chase. He had been denying his sexuality before he met the man. “Things have been okay. We are struggling… Not in our relationship, but our mental states. He is struggling with drugs and I’m struggling with paranoia, but we are okay…” He pointed in the direction of the Coffee Bean. “Coffee before we head to my house?” 

Allie gave Paul a look when he tried to shrug off the mushy love stuff.  “Um, may I politely remind you which one of us is married and which one of us has done nothing but make a complete mess out of their love life and has decided to go back to the way of drunken one night stands?” She pointed out.  She frowned slightly when he said they were struggling.  “Are your meds not working?” She asked softly, before nodding at his question. “Sure.”

“Not a chance, of course not!” Paul laughed a bit, hugging her tight. “Just because i’m married doesn’t mean I can’t have friends. Chase and I are still separate people. We still occasionally need to live separate lives. Absence makes the heart grow fonder…” He chuckled. Of course absence only made the heart grow fonder when your boyfriend wasn’t kidnapped pre-marriage. Now it made a paranoid man more paranoid, but that was beside the point. 

Allie smiled when he said he wouldn’t forget her.  Lately she’d made such a mess out of her relationships that she was looking forward to a simple night with one of her bet friends.  “Right. I’ll leave all the mushy love stuff up to you.” She chuckled, hooking her arm with his as they started to walk.  “How have things been? Better since....” 

Paul grinned and tilted his head to the side as if he were weighing the options. He then gave a small nod. “You are right… I do really want to join you. We can get ice cream and popcorns… just veg out…” 

Allie scrunched her face as she watched him think about it until he gave in.  She wrapped her arms around him. “Sounds perfect.  I knew you wouldn’t forget about movie nights just because you’re married.”

“Perfect!” Truthfully, Dani could use the company.

“My flat is just around the corner.  But we might want to stop and get some snacks first.”

“Yeah, that’s a bit weird to me.” She chuckled. “I’ve always hated them playing movies on tv with adverts though.”

“Me too. Sometimes by the time it comes back on I’ve forgotten what movie I was watching.”

Dakota laughed softly. “Oh, trust me, that’s definitely not why.” She teased before shrugging. “I think it’s just so long I can’t focus on it.”

Allie nodded. “That is very fair. I once knew a girl who said she watched it every time it was on telly which is crazy to me.  Why would you want to watch it with commercials and all the good bits cut out?”

“Sorry to have to disappoint.” He chuckled.

“You could remedy it by agreeing to watch it with me.”

“Would you believe it if I said I’d never actually ever seen that film?”

“Would you believe if I said that would be disappointed in you if that’s true?”

“Sounds like just the afternoon I need.”

“Good. Then it’s settled.”

“Only if we can order pizza.”

“You think I can watch that movie without pizza and ice cream?”

“Truthfully…. I actually hate that movie.”

Allie looked over at Dakota and nodded.  “That’s fair..it is very long and very sad but if you try to tell me its because you don’t like Jack, I might judge you.” She teased. She didn’t know for sure but she was pretty sure that Kyle had gone back to Dakota and while she wanted to blame him, she really couldn’t.

“The titanic sank 109 years ago this morning. I think that means it is the perfect day to re-watch the movie. You know you want to join me.”

“That you totally do. I also don’t mind getting the first round.” Caleb shrugged a little bit, as he walked next to her. The flirting had seemed to stop he noticed. “I’m a whiskey type of guy. What about you?”

“Such a gentleman.” Allie teased gently, though he had been a gentleman so far.  “Depends on what kind of drunk I want to be.” She admitted. “But I can drink whiskey and try to keep up with you.”

Caleb wasn’t even sure if he was going to sleep with her or not. She was hot yes, and he couldn’t deny that. Still there was a chance that Caleb wasn’t going to sleep with her and he was okay with that. Nodding his head a little bit. “King’s Head it is. First round is on me.” He offered while looking over at her for a moment. “Come on let’s go and get you that drink.” He started walking towards the King’s Head.

“I guess I do owe you a round since I was the one that bumped into you.” Allie admitted.  She felt his eyes on her again but it didn’t feel he same.  She nodded, moving towards the King’s Head with him. “What is your drink of choice?”
