one. i open up my body, whole and spit-shined eager and inside there is only a mouth. the mouth says you are not an easy person to love. curious, i reach into this mouth and pull out the tongue. i make the tongue say it again, and again. you are not an easy person – you are not an easy person to – and it’s so silly looking. this little flip-flopping thing in the palm of my hand. i show it to everyone. my friends. the guy at 7-11. on the morning you leave i hold it right up to your face. so close you practically choke on it. so close that it practically becomes your tongue. and everyone i show it to just looks at me and laughs. of course, they say, of course this is true. two. this body wears crazy well and so unlike a man. like well-sewn black lace and pink moscato. this body lit the votive candles above the bathtub and forgot. they burned all night. the house still stands. small miracle. this body fell asleep and woke up with a kitchen knife in the bed. again. i am off somewhere in a swirl of blue silk slow and watching this body. my body. i brought a knife to gunfight, but i am the knife. i am all blade. three. i wake to my phone glowing are you awake still? and in the dizzy smear of sleep i say, come be bodies with me. he arrives and i meet him at the door, lock fingers, lead him to my room. i kiss him and say i don’t believe in truth anymore.i kiss him and say i am paralyzed by hope. i kiss him and say i’m going to break you open and find the butterflies. and beneath that the concrete. and beneath that the rich dirt. i kiss him and say there is something in me that cannot be healed. there is something in me needs breaking open. { ---- @dissolvedreams liked for a starter. ❜ }
a deep breath is brought into exhausted lungs that had been full of smoke only moments ago; the taste of stale cigarettes still lingered on her breath. it had been days since she’d slept for more than thirty minutes and it was beginning to make her life a nightmare. slender fingers wrap themselves gently around the paper cup full of coffee that had a fancy name and an expensive price tag to go along with it. as she stared at the emblem that had been capitalized and overly profited, bailey couldn’t help but tell herself she was being ironic because it was easier than admitting she shared anything in common with the people that stood in the very line she had been in. hazel hues roll back just before she shuts her eyes and lifts the cup up to her lips, only to have it slip from her grip and crash onto the tiled ground.
❛ are you fucking kidding me? ❜ the profanity spews from rose colored lips in an outburst as she stares at the wasted cash in liquid form.

pale features reflect sunbeams as she sits upon the metal frame of a park bench that threatens to burn flesh covered by worn denim. she is the very image of some stereotypical modern day angel with blonde hair and hazel eyes that hold some sort of twisted inner pain she could only express through written words. with a pen in hand and nose all but buried in the notebook of lined paper that sat in her lap, bailey tuned out the bustling world around her -- allowing herself to be completely consumed by the fleeting inspiration that allowed her to document her life. she lifts her gaze for a moment, just long enough to allow brief eye contact with a stranger before tossing herself entirely into the stream of words that had managed to seamlessly fall upon paper but this stranger carried a different sort of feeling; one that forced her gaze to linger and features to twist in curiosity.
❛ i’m betting your story is one for the books. ❜ bailey utters just loud enough she thinks it might catch his attention. a brief conversation was all she wanted, nothing more and she could go on about her business.
I may be as pretty as an angel, but I sure as hell ain’t one.

WELL. THIS BLOWS.
i just logged into tumblr from our new laptop that i share with my husband because i am having issues with my laptop at the moment and i’m thinking i made a mistake because now i’m looking at my icons and i am so so so unhappy with them. hopefully he will let me steal this laptop from him this evening so that i can make new icons (thankfully i only made twenty-one of them). in the meantime, i’ll be drafting out finished starters for those of you who liked my starter call so that i can post them as soon as i’m done making icons. i have also decided to use two different face claims for this blog just because. over the course of the rest of this week, my blog will be completed with headcanons easily accessible for those of you who might be interested. on another note, i am a fan of pre-established relationships of all shapes and sizes. if you would be interested, whether we have spoken or not, please give this a like.
