🌀 Now, that really takes the Bitbeast 🌀

I'm Hughes, or as I'm known on my main blog, @hughesation . Beyblade is my oldest fandom, which has been a fluctuating obsession since 2000. I'm a digital fan artist, and I draw characters, OCs, Bitbeasts and sometimes even the beyblades and launchers. I am a fan of the OG Beyblade, from Beyblade 2000 to G-Revolution; I tried to watch Metal Fight at one point but simply couldn't get into it (I hate everything about the new systems introduced, and also the new bitbeasts). I am only familiar with the English dub, too, sadly.

@prima-axis is entirely exempt from any "rules" established. I only ever learned digital art because I wanted to draw her OCs in our teenage years. She has always been my #1 supporter and is both my sister (irl) and my best friend.

I do not accept commissions, because I have very low spoons and struggle sometimes with enough energy to get by irl. I will not be accepting commissions any time in the future as I do not want the stress of having to prioritise drawing over everything else, or being told the commission is not worth the agreed price. To be blunt, doing art in exchange for money would remove any enjoyment for me and would add several layers of stress.

I accept requests on a case by case basis. I don't like to do requests for strangers, as I've had a lot of bad experiences with people being rude, harassing and demanding, or feeling owed something by me, without having ever spoken to me. Back in my days on DA I experienced a lot of harassment over requests and I am very tentative about accepting requests from anyone who isn't a friend. The same applies to collabs.

Samayaza Beyblade Concept for @let-it-ripperoni, to go with her Bitbeast Design. Inspired by the "Biblically Accurate Angels", it incorporates wings & eyes, and is designed for both left & right spin directions, allowing for either launcher to be used effectively.

Samayaza bitbeast design for @let-it-ripperoni , based on angels (more specifically the Grigori, and Melek Taus) and white peacocks. I've never been very good at peacocks, so this took several scrapped attempts; I really wanted to draw this one, because it was such a cool concept, but alas, my skills aren't really up to it.

Crusher, for Mayblade. I have so little practice drawing him, so this is pretty rough. It doesn't help that my fire is always dodgy and the lighting never looks natural, but I gave it my best. Sorry I can't do him more justice.

The major technique of @prima-axis 's OC, Ozesta Vandoom & Caladlyon. Its a light-type technique, using solar plasma to form a devastating attack, that is so bright it becomes hard to look at and so very hard to evade. A better view of the beyblade can be seen here.

Horaltic Eminence:

Caladlyon spreads wide her wings and begins to emit a radiant glow. This spreads into a golden plasma fire that engulfs the wings and can either be released into a homing strike or used to physically attack the foe. When the bitbeast is not summoned, it releases a glow from the beyblade that twists into golden wings and can either wrap around the beyblade to repel damage or be released to strike the foe.

Caladlyon, Ozesta Vandoom & Horaltic Eminence all belong to @prima-axis .

Design concept for Ozesta Vandoom's bow launcher, styled after the rest of the Majestics. It incorporates her lozenge motif, along with the references to her bitbeast and also draws colours from her beyblade. I had fun drawing this, if only because I don't spend much time on launchers, so they present a unique challenge.

Caladlyon beyblade design for @prima-axis OC, Ozesta Vandoom. It's based on the Huguenot Cross, and the tail feathers of peacocks, and ties into Ozesta's Knighthood aesthetic. The bitbeast, based on a Caladrius, completes the motif of the white dove of peace and purity; it can be seen here.

New bitbeast design for @prima-axis 's OC, Ozesta Vandoom; this is Caladlyon, the Caladrius bitbeast, based on heraldry, medieval bestiaries and the solar symbolism of the Vulture. Caladrius are white birds that foretell sickness and recovery, and can cure any ailment or disease, even saving a man from the brink of death; they fly up towards the sun and burn up sickness in its rays, becoming purified by its light. This is similar to the sun bathing behaviour of Vultures and Condors, who bathe in the sun to disinfect themselves and fly in the thermals, so naturally the two tie together perfectly. Caladlyon wards plague and sickness, has healing properties and uses solar plasma in her attacks. Her main technique, Horaltic Eminence, can be seen here.
