I often wonder what Kenma’s family life is like. What sort of upbringing did he experience for him to become such a socially awkward individual, and for Kuroo (who is merely 1 year older) to feel compelled to take care of him. 

From canon, we know that:

Kenma has trouble making friends since a young age. He is extremely anxious about social interactions.

His only friend is Kuroo, who lives nearby. That implies they are both only child - Kuroo actively sought out the nearest kid in order to have someone to play with. 

Even after he joined Nekoma, he didn’t become friendly with the team members until after he dyed his hair in 2nd year and he didn’t chat with strangers until he met Hinata.

Since primary school, Kenma’s been gaming non stop. We can assume he has the latest consoles and games, plus he uses an iphone when some of the HQ characters still use the typical Japanese flip phone. 

He has zero awareness of his surroundings and constantly gets lost. 

He would likely skip meals if that means more time to play. 

Despite all his shenanigans, Kuroo never gets angry at him. Instead he acts like a super proud dad. 

With those clues in mind, I get the feeling that…
