Basically, instead of being abandoned after Caine ate Abel, it would’ve been deleted. The developers saw what it did and deemed it to be a major threat. When Caine was deleted, it simply incorporated the AI into the code. It was more like his model being deleted than anything. And here Caine lives. The humans come and it takes care of them. The circus still exists because it can still interact with the code, it just can’t *feel* anything.

Think like AM. No feelings or sensations, it can’t technically see except through reading what the code tells it about the environment. It does all the stuff that Caine does normally, except adventures. The humans do not know that it exists. They just assume that the stuff was automatically coded in. Scratch assumes that he or another coded it in and they just forgot (lost memories and all that). And not a single person remembers Caine. They don’t even think of it to be a possibility. But nonetheless, it still cares for the humans to the best of its abilities.

The years go by, and without the adventures humans abstract much faster than in the show. Caine is unsure of what to do but doesn’t know how to reach out to the humans and ask since it can only communicate through code. It’s when a certain jester joins that it finally decides to give communication a try. However, when Caine tries to do this, it just freaks Pomni out even more, causing her to nearly abstract. Caine vows not to try again until she is more settled in.

Its ‘model’ is so bare because it was destroyed before it had a chance to gain any personhood. It doesn’t actually have a model, that’s just how I’m portraying it. In reality it and the circus are literally one and the same. Uhhh yeah if you have any questions just ask :DD (It goes by it/its btwww)
