I don’t really get why would Mathis leave Mackenzie alive and i saw people that were wondering the same 😭

Like, in the 4th episode he makes it clear that the convicts don’t need Will as a pilot anymore because they want to stay on the island, then Donner gets injured and Mackenzie is partly the one responsible for it. The only thing that stopped him from getting murdered by Mathis right then and there was the explosion, and then his escape with Jace.

In the 5th episode, Mathis sends some convicts after MACKENZIE SPECIFICALLY, not caring about Jace when she was the one behind almost all the troubles his gang faced when trying to get Donner out. It shows just how much he hates Will, to the point of not caring about anything else other than getting his hands on him, it’s like a clear parallel to the situation with the bus driver.

Mathis states to Astrid that he wants to kill the guy EVEN MORE after finding out the truth about the case. Just how can he make it even more clear that he wants WILL DEAD.

In the 4th episode, Heller says that Mathis doesn’t like when someone’s messing with his plans, and what we get in the end is the exact situation, with him and his gang being unable to get into the bunker. But he doesn’t even care? Why did his character strand from like, one of the FEW characteristics given about him, and so drastically at that.

Mathis is a madman unable to control his anger when someone’s messing with his plans, but when everything goes to shit with the bunker he is absolutely fine?

And then here’s Mackenzie, who he wants to kill from the end of episode 4, who is partly at fault for his son’s DEATH, who he has no use for anymore WHICH HE STATED ALREADY. And he keeps him alive. Wasn’t he bargaining his life to get into the bunker just a few minutes ago?

When they finally showed Donner i was lowkey excited, i liked his character design because despite all the things said about him being the biggest evil of the whole island he just looks like a typical guy lol

But I’m sad that in the end they never showed him as a character, apart from the rumblings under the effects of the aurora, and it was a thing that we already saw before in the notes of the missing people and on the ship

They never showed WHY exactly was this guy considered such a threat, no backstory on his crimes and especially nothing about what kind of person he is, apart from apparently just him being the most evil person in the world and?? That’s really vague

Donner being under the effect of the aurora doesn’t change a thing about him committing such violent crimes before it all went down, to the point that he was put into the BLACKROCK prison of all places, in solitary confinement specifically
