Inktober Day 28: The World

Upright: completion, achievement, fulfilment, sense of belonging, wholeness, harmony

Reversed: ack of closure, lack of achievement, feeling incomplete, emptiness

The World is a card that symbolizes that the inner and outer worlds have achieved alignment and unity, being the same inside and out through great means. However, it also warns that just because these means can be used, doesn’t mean they should be. The great unity it promises might also be unfulfilling if it was forced on everything and everyone, including yourself. Remember always that the greatest unifying act, one that everyone will go through, is death.

Holy smokes, guys, we actually made it through all the Major Arcana! I’m so proud of me, even with the wrenches this month threw at me.

Next couple of pictures won’t have a real theme to them, they’re just gonna be other pictures. Maybe one day, if I can find enough stories with common themes, I might could do the Minor Arcana, too! Thing is with the Minor is that all the suits have themes to them.

Inktober Day 27: Judgement

Upright: self-evaluation, awakening, renewal, purpose, reflection, reckoning

Reversed: self-doubt, lack of self-awareness, failure to learn lessons, self-loathing

Judgement is a reflection of your actions, in these two souls who were wronged by someone they loved. They acted upon their reflection of a choice they made in anger, and those choices did not just only effect them. One chose the path of asking for forgiveness, and was forgiven as friends forgive and that they could pass on together. And the other soul? Probably doesn’t even realize it’s back along with the destroyer of both their souls. Dead is sometimes best.

I feel like this one’s a little plain, but it gets the point across. Just didn’t know what to do with the background.

Inktober Day 26 (2/2): The Star

Upright: hope, inspiration, positivity, faith, renewal, healing, rejuvenation

Reversed: hopelessness, despair, negativity, lack of faith, despondent

Looking up at the night sky, sits a singer with no voice who only struggles. The Star promises that, although it is hard to see always after important things are taken from us and we suffer indescribable traumas, we may not feel whole; but to have hope that something will come along. There is more luck than one might think, and in the meanwhile, take note that there are blessings like friendships. Things will be okay.

Inktober Day 26 (1/2): The Moon

Upright: illusion, intuition, uncertainty, confusion, complexity, secrets, unconscious

Reversed: fear, deception, anxiety, misunderstanding, misinterpretation, clarity, understanding

The Moon is a card whose message and warning is your imagination is getting the best of you. Be forewarned that this goes as far as creating illusions that are hard to discern from reality. Even things as simple as a children’s show. Was it real? Were you?

Sorry about that, I do live a very clown shoes existence in real life. I love ‘‘‘surviving’’’ late stage capitalism.

Anyway, I don’t know how to sentence it yet. But I think I could potentially have a way to make Candle Cove a real show without ever explaining what it actually is. (And I mean, an actual adaptation of the real, legit show. Not the snippets of Channel Zero, which was really cool.)

Tomorrow’s just gonna be a double down of pictures. I’m not sick again, just the sketch didn’t wanna work.

But I don’t have my second job today, so I can work on the one I was gonna post today and tomorrow.

Inktober Day 23: The Sun

Reversed: blocked happiness, excessive enthusiasm, pessimism, unrealistic expectations, conceitedness

The Sun promises that there, for lack of a not cliché sentence, light at the end of it all. Bad things and times always have an end. Traumas may have the negative effects of The Sun dwell internally, but remember at the end of the day, survival is learning to deal with injustices of the world and done personally to you at the same time. Wipe off the blood someone else tried to put on your hands; you will find a way to be happy again.

Inktober Day 22: The Tower

Upright: disaster, destruction, upheaval, trauma, sudden change, chaos

Reversed: averting disaster, delaying the inevitable, resisting change

Atop of a support pole of a strange tent with a stranger performer, The Tower depicts chaos and trauma to those who come across the promise of an innocent dance. The glow of his eyes, teeth, and fiddle glow with a power not meant to be on this world, and are visible no matter how far away he is on his platform above his audience. Truly, he is happy that his audience is so captive to the songs he sings and plays.

My yearly drawing of the Song and Dance Man. I need to draw him more, the insanity in his eyes is fun to convey.

Inktober Day 21: The Devil

Upright: oppression, addiction, obsession, dependency, excess, powerlessness, limitations

Reversed: independence, freedom, revelation, release, reclaiming power, reclaiming control

The Devil card warns that you are succumbing to a need for a need of luxuries, full of things Rare and Shiny. The addiction to wanting everything and more is a core trait of the card. It will provide those for you, simply tweaking the rules of the world, for the simple price of a name.

Inktober Day 20: Temperance

Upright: balance, peace, patience, moderation, calm, tranquillity, harmony, serenity

Reversed: imbalance, excess, extremes, discord, recklessness, hastiness

In times of great danger and stresses in life, it is important to stop for a moment and enjoy any moment of peace offered or made, no matter how fleeting or how close by danger is. Keeping a calm heart and mind and knowing what you want to achieve, as well as a crucial piece of patience, is integral to achieving a balance of chaos and kindness.

Inktober Day 19: Death

Upright: transformation, endings, change, transition, letting go, release

Reversed: fear of change, repeating negative patterns, resisting change, stagnancy, decay

Death is perhaps the most feared card of them all, it holds that much power. In reality, even when the meaning is literal, death is usually the most positive card. It promises change, and is given by a force that will be patient as long as it needs to be for your acceptances in change. It does not matter the road taken to get to the end, you will come home to Death eventually.

Inktober Day 18: The Hanged Man

Upright: sacrifice, waiting, uncertainty, lack of direction, perspective, contemplation

Reversed: stalling, disinterest, stagnation, avoiding sacrifice, standstill, apathy

A noose not always be something to hang from the rafters, but anything that would hold someone still where they stood. The figures stands at the bottom of the ocean of their own doing, as sacrifice was needed for progress needed. As the world goes on without them and their story lives on, perhaps they can find peace in forgiving themselves for taking a responsibility and mistake that they shouldn’t have had to make.

The story is even sadder than the description in Ingrained. And the world still survives after them, that broke my heart.

Inktober Day 16: Justice

Upright: justice, karma, consequence, accountability, law, truth, honesty, integrity, cause and effect

Reversed: injustice, retribution, dishonesty, corruption, unfairness, avoiding accountability

A prisoner stands in a prison cell, foreboding pile of blueberries to be eaten in front of him. Justice is often served, after all. The sledgehammer acts as the double edged sword of justice, as it is not easy to determine if Justice suits some and not others without context.

This story is short but it is fucked.

Inktober Day 15: Wheel of Fortune

Upright: change, cycles, fate, decisive moments, luck, fortune, unexpected events

Reversed: bad luck, lack of control, clinging to control, unwelcome changes, delays

The Wheel of Fortune reminds that there are powers beyond any human’s control, and that luck is circulating. Life is unpredictable, so why would death be any different? On the wheel remains a soul, surrounded by the helping forces attempting to change fate, but are ultimately just as trapped under the negative influences of the arms of the divine. For as long as you have good luck, unfortunately there is always bad.

Not gonna lie, I had a lot of fun with this one. Lost Silver has a very special place in my heart as my first Pasta.
