📖 SIM STORY MOD 📖

   Hi! Yes, yes it's me, I hope you haven't forgotten me yet? After my absence, I'm incredibly excited to write this post for my favorites ♡

   Soon you will be waiting for a lot of new mods from replacements to different usefulness, I am full of energy and ideas to create for you!! In the meantime, let me tell you in detail what kind of mod I made and how it works!

   Filling the save with different sims, doing makeovers of pre-made families and just creating characters, I always paid a lot of time and attention to working out the story and personality of the sims.

   After all, it's much more fun to interact with characters with specific tastes, interests, skills, and at least some backstory!

   But, alas, it takes a lot of time and patience to work out each character, so, without thinking long, I decided to create my own little wand that will do everything for me!

    If you don't feel like reading a lot of letters, you can watch a small video review of this mod!

    Now, clicking on a sim with Shift held down (with the enabled testingcheats true) will bring up the "Sim Story..." menu, where you can select "Create a story for this sim".

   This action will automatically add your sim:

   When randomizing, this mod will primarily take into account:

✓ Aspiration

✓ Traits

 If available, the mod will consider:

✓ Career

✓ Diploma

✓ Preferences 

✓ Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs

✓ Lifestyle

    Also, you can individually add just skills, lifestyle, preferences, attractive and a phone case, depending on what your sim is missing!

    If you're tired of completely blank NPCs that your sims have no interest in interacting with, I have a solution!

  With the addon to the main mod, unplayable sims who don't already have preferences, attractive, skills, etc., will automatically have a story added!

Multi-Purpose Lots

Turn the shared areas of your Residential Rentals into community lots or improve community lots by adding new features related to another lot type.

Translations: English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese. If you want other languages to be included, you can find the list of strings here for all my mods and send it back to me, I will try and include them at the next update.

Next Project: I'm currently working on making cash registers functional outside retail lots, with the ability to choose what type of stuff should be bought there!

🪅 Multi-Purpose Lot Traits

This mod is designed to help you build multi-purpose lots, using lot challenges that add functionalities related to different lot types, including staffing NPC at designed hours and visitors using the amenities related to the lot type. It can be used in two different ways:

In Community Lots, it helps designing multi-purpose lots. You can add a café in a park, add functional food stands in a bar or any combination you like.

In Residential Rentals, it allows using the shared spaces as a community lot. You can design a bar or a café in those spaces, and visitors will include your neighbors and other visiting sims.

List of traits and features:

🍵 Brewed Delights: the lot functions as a café (if there's an Espresso Bar) or a Thrift Shop (if there's a Bubble Tea stand). It's open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

🍕 Meals on the Go: the lot automatically hires stall vendors (up to 2 stalls) and/or a cafeteria server (using University's Cafeteria Station) for lunch and dinner.

🍸 Drinking Spot: the lot functions as a bar (if there is a bar in the shared spaces). This also includes karaoke if a machine is present. It's open from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.

🧩 Fun Zone: the lot automatically brings in children and teenagers to enjoy the on-site facilities (outdoor or indoor games) from 10am (weekends)/5pm (weekdays) to 9pm.

🏥 Care Facility: this lot takes car of its tenants by offering them all the comforts they need on a daily basis: a catering services (using University's Cafeteria Station), care and visits from the loved ones.

🙌 Curious Visitors: the lot automatically brings in people to enjoy the on-site facilities from 9am to 9pm, and automatically hires stall vendors (up to 2 stalls) for lunch and dinner and a bartender.

⚒️ Third Place: This lot provides a wide range of activities for visitors, including vegetable gardening, animal care, craft and repair activities, and automatically hires a ranch-hand (Horse Ranch required) to tend for animals, plants and repairs.

🌺 Relaxing Spa: the lot functions as a spa (if there is a massage chair or a massage table in the shared spaces). Visitors will use the spa amenities present in the shared spaces. It's open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. This trait is included in a separate file that you can remove if you don't have the Spa Day pack.

Additional information :

The traits are located under lot challenges. You need to assign the lot challenge to every unit in Residential Rentals (at least the one you are playing)

Those traits work on Residential Rentals and Community Lots. I had to modify all autonomies so that visitors only use objects in the shared areas.

When used in Residential Rentals, among visitors, neighbors living on the same lot are used to populate the shared areas, in addition to the other tasks they normally perform.

If the lot trait Private Dwelling is used, only NPCs will be included, and visitors will be limited to Sims from other units. I use this feature, for example, to have a bar in my hotel!

In the current configuration, I favor played sims for visitor groups (not for single visitors). I'll have to see how I adapt this, as it's the most relevant in my way of playing, but I could change this setting.

A Janitor NPC is included except for the Fun Zone, to clean up any leftover glasses and plates at the end of service. I wasn't able to limit them to the shared areas entirely, so they may also clean your active family's home.

Required: For Rent, Get to Work, Get Together, University, High School Years. + Spa Day for the Relaxing Spa addon. For the mod to work, you need to download Injection Tools from BrainBlasted updated by Andirz by which you can find here.

Status: 🔄️ Updated on 05/16/25: Fixed the Self-Cleaning Dishes lot trait that had missing text stings.

🛒 Functional Registers

Currently in testing phase

This mod adds the ability to have functional registers on any lot! They spawn a vendor from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m, and you can interact with this vendor or the register in order to buy a wide range of products.

To activate a register, proceed as follow:

Add the lot challenge Functional Registers to your lot (or to every unit for a Residential Rental)

Click on the Register and select Open Register

Click again on the register and select Select Store Products. You can choose between 9 options (Groceries is selected by default): Groceries, Bakery, Garden, Supplies, Supernatural, Fashion, Electronics, Antique, Art.

After that, a vendor will spawn on you lot and stand at the register. You can have up to 3 functional registers.

Side note: This mod override the purchase_picker_service, meaning it can break if they decide to add new elements there (last and only time was for Horse Ranch) or you have an other mod modifying it. It's quite easy to update on my side so no worries.

Required: Get to Work. For the mod to work, you need to download Injection Tools from BrainBlasted updated by Andirz by which you can find here, and Lot51 Core Library.

Recommended: Cottage Living & Home Chef Hustle. If you don't own one of those packs, download the "No CL/No HCH" version.

Having multiple packs is a plus, as some stores won't be really interesting without that 🤗

Status: 🔄️ Updated on 05/16/25: New objects from the latest kits in the list of items are now available in the different shops.

🗝️ Rent a Room

Nothing fancy here, it's just a quick and really simple way to have rooms closed on a community lot, with the ability to access them for a limited time by paying. In some way, you can use them to have fake hotels, but the gameplay is nearly non-existant (if you want a full hotel experience, see Suite Life by Lot51 🤗)

With this mod installed, you can click on any door on a community lot and decide to Make This Room Rentable and select a price. When visiting a lot with rentable rooms, click on the door and select Rent the Room for 8h: you will be granted access for the next 8h spent on the lot (any sims can enter, it's just unlocked).

Be careful to place the door with the arrow pointing towards the outside: they are locked only in one direction, in order to avoid getting you Sims stuck inside.

For all intents and purposes, this is a "community project". I am willing and able to create and maintain the required override, the hundreds upon hundreds of unique 9-digit "IDs" for the "TagValueNumber", and the unique Strings, etc., but I can't possibly override every custom CAS item in existence.

Help me make this a reality, and also, keep your fingers crossed that the override doesn't break under the weight of the hundreds upon hundreds of entries I'm adding to it.

Oh hai, @sims4studioofficial. Can you add a BATCH FIX that <LOOKS THROUGH MY WISH LIST> allows us to add a "SpecialContent" TAG with a custom "TagValueNumber" to a whole folder of CAS mods? Even if you can't get the "CategoryNumber" to copy properly, a BATCH FIX will at least eliminate half the busywork.

🎓 HOW IT DO, PIKACHU:

If you're well-versed in creating or modifying CAS content, all you need to do is add a new TAG to your swatches - you can do just the first swatch, but you should do all swatches - and change the "CategoryNumber" to "127" (without the quotes), and change the "TagValueNumber" to the desired 9-digit "ID".

For everyone else who is new to this, instructional screenshots have been provided under the spreadsheet. Don't forget to grab the JSON files and toss them into "Documents\Sims 4 Studio\Custom Tags"to make life easier.

This second update increases the total number of filters from 500 to 525 - 395 creator filters, 100 generic filters, and 30 fashion era / time period filters.

I changed the names of a few generic filters and the fashion era filters. Me changing names doesn't require you to do anything on your end. It's just STRING VALUES.

Keep in mind that these filters are only visible in CAS when custom content using my custom TAGS are present in your Mods folder.

The Patreon post and the Tumblr post are still "under construction", but all of the information you need is there. I just need to refine it, condense it, expand it, etc.

P.S. I'm still on hiatus from this mod. I'm trying to finish some of the other projects I was working on that I paused work on when I figured out how to do this and subjected the world to it, but we're not nearly done with this. There are hundreds (plural) of filters for creators yet to be added. I intend to do this for "everyone" if the override permits.
