What contemporary novels would you recommend?
Bear in mind that itâs mostly YA fiction here and thereâs bits of contemporary/romance and some mystery-ish books thrown in too. Also, some books might be triggering because they deal with heavy themes so be sure to read the synopsis and some reviews beforehand. Youâre welcome to ask me about specific books if you need to.

What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like heâs never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.
