          anger  still  makes  his  face  suffer  all  scrunched  up  for  a  moment  longer  before  he  notices  @tobedisastrous  herself .  no  god  would  ever  dare  question  zeus  and  his  reasons ,  much  less  so  when  he'd  just  scolded  ares  for  his  less  than  acceptable  ways  -  and  yet  there  she  was ,  and  instead  of  reminding  her  of  who  she  was  speaking  to  his  demeanour  changes  uncannily  quick  instead ,  the  dark  clouds  forming  around  mount  olympus  give  way  to  clear  skies ,  his  expression  softens  into  warm  features  that  now  look  a  lot  more  like  those  of  a  father  who's  been  missing  his  daughter .     "  you  know  your  brother ,  his  need  for  war  and  bloodshed  will  always  be  a  predicament .  it  worries  me  that  berating  no  longer  seems  to  have  an  effect  either ..  but  it  is  that  time  of  the  year  at  last !  "    everything  that's  been  bothering  him  before  persephone's  arrival  is  thrown  out  the  window  and  the  god  receives  the  goddess  with  open  arms ,  it  was  finally  that  time  of  the  year  when  she  had  to  live  with  her  parents  for  a  while  and  every  year  it  would  make  zeus  selfishly  happy .    "  hades  has  been  taking  good  care  of  you ,  you  look  so  radiant  i'd  never  guess  you've  just  arrived  from  the  underworld ,  dear  "

          odd  thing  to  say .  eyebrows  narrowed  as  he  turns  to  look  at  @cinler .    "  and  what  is  that  supposed  to  mean ?  "    he's  just  landed  on  earth  and  he's  beginning  to  see  the  situation  more  clearly  -  the  mortal  probably  witnessed  the  whole  thing ,  and  there  was  a  chance  it  scared  her  greatly .  although  this  wasn't  his  first  encounter  with  a  mortal ,  it  was  probably  her  first  one  with  a  god .    "  i  mean  you  no  harm , if that is what you fear .  "

          his  sister's  voice  brings  him  back  from  thoughts  that  he  visited  miles  away ,  his  eyebrows  arched  as  his  eyes  set  on  @seaprofound .    "  hm ?  oh ,  the  view  took  me  back  to  the  ten  year  battle  with  the  titans ..  those  were  the  days  "    when  he  felt  glorious  and  powerful ,  when  a  victory  even  if  small  filled  him  with  a  rush  of  adrenaline  and  eagerness  to  continue  on  -  now  he  could  rest ,  he  could  enjoy  the  fruits  to  his  labour ,  but  how  boring  would  that  become  after  centuries  owning  that  throne ,  after  they'd  gone  after  every  adventure .    "  are  you  happy  with  your  realm ,  sister ?  "    there's  a  longing  feeling  in  his  tone  and  in  his  eyes ,  they  were  meant  to  be  dethroned  just  like  it  happened  with  kronos  and  his  father  before  that ,  and  yet  they  proved  to  be  so  strong  they  were  able  to  stop  it  from  happening ,  but  was  he  now  suffering  the  consequences  of  such  act ?

          gods  do  not  meddle  with  the  mortals  doings ,  at  least  not  directly ,  and  that  philosophy  alone  is  what  powers  the  god's  reaction ,  a  sigh .  certainly  @eripeteia  was  a  great  warrior  and  one  the  olympus  liked  to  cheer  for  -  plus ,  considering  zeus  played  favourites  far  too  often  for  the  king  of  the  gods  ajax  was  always  looked  at  with  a  certain  hint  of  special  interest  considering   he  was  his  descendant  too ,  however  his  request  alone  left  a  sour  taste  in  the  gods'  mouth .    "  you  are  one  of  the  greatest  among  your  kind ,  but  that  does  not  give  you  the  right  to  ask  for  such  thing .  " zeus  is  not  in  a  bad  mood ,  but  the  question  clouded  his  otherwise  warm  and  fun  demeanour .    "  we  gods  are  not  here  to  serve  you ,  there  is  no  reason  why  i  should  give  you  such  a  powerful  thing .  "

          unprecedented  times  call  for  unprecedented  measures ,  he  would  say .  back  in  the  glory  days  of  the  greek  gods  in  ancient  greece  zeus  would've  been  too  busy  and  far  too  important  to  assign  such  task  to  himself  -  it  would  most  likely  be  a  nymph  in  his  place  attempting  to  find  this  artefact  as  soon  as  possible  in  hopes  that  it  could  be  done  before  the  gods'  wrath  erupted  -  but ,  as  times  changed  so  did  the  gods'  agendas  and  that's  how  zeus  found  himself  bored  out  of  his  mind  in  olympus ,  realising  he'd  have  to  do  something  soon  to  get  out  of  his  seat .  a  quick  look  through  the  most  recent  reports  to  olympus  puts  him  in  america ,  looking  for  the  recently  lost  persephone's  artefact ,  the  magic  girdle ,  which  powers  were  innocent  enough ,  however  they  were  now  being  used  for  something  macabre .  shocking ,  but  these  weren't  news  to  zeus  though ,  he'd  seen  human's  minds  corrupted  by  things  like  greed  and  lust  far  too  often  and  he's  accepted  that  it  is  part  of  their  nature  just  like  it  was  the  gods'  -  unlike  their  catholic  god .

          his  familiarity  with  these  kinds  of  situations  plays  a  part  in  his  semi - nonchalant  attitude  towards  it  all ,  which  couldn't  be  said  the  same  about  the  agent  assigned  to  solve  the  mysterious  murders  zeus'  was  sure  had  some  help  from  the  artefact  he  was  looking  for .  this  is  how  zeus  and  @executiioner  met ,  and  despite  his  openness  about  his  true  identity  now  that  the  greek  gods  didn't  have  much  influence  on  the  modern  lives ,  she  seemed  to  have  a  hard  time  believing  him .    "  hm ?  oh ,  i  got  distracted .  "    remains  of  a  smirk  and  a  traceable  gaze  are  enough  to  understand  what  he  was  referring  to ,  his  attention  had  been  placed  on  a  very  attractive  woman  walking  nearby  that  seemed  to  reciprocate  the  god's  interest .  he's  semi - sitting  on  anita's  desk  swinging  the  resting  leg  as  the  other  one  supported  half  of  his  slanted  body  up  against  it ,  elbow  pressed  against  his  thigh  to  close  some  space  between  the  two ,  the  smirk  remains  on  his  lips  but  it  no  longer  meant  the  same ,  he  simply  did  not  care  about  the  person  anita  had  been  talking  about .    "  i'm  sorry ,  when  are  we  cutting  to  the  ' we  have  a  lead ,  let's  get  to  work '  part ?  the  bad  guy  is  out  there  somewhere  and  we're  just  wasting  our  time ,  advice  from  a  wise  god .  "

you're longing for excitement and are rarely satisfied with the most obvious answer. you have a great instinct for mysteries and a mind that sometimes works faster than you can keep up with. you're the life of the party and an amazing conversationalist. it won't always feel so dull; adventure is coming.

          asking  her  to  understand  would  be  far  too  cruel  and  equally  impossible ,  he's  learned  that  from  the  countless  arguments .  it  was  a  feeling  that  brewed  from  within  his  bones  -  that  he  was  never  meant  to  be  constrained ,  that  he  could  not  live  a  simple  healthy  married  life  because  he  was  far  too  much ,  he  meant  a great deal ,  he  bore  so  much  power  -  and  there  were  days  he  felt  terrible  about  it  just  as  there  were  days  he  wished  she  could  simply  accept  it .    "  hera ,  for  the  thousandth  time ,  it  has  nothing  to  do  with ..  you ,  or  this ,  or  anything .  "    there  were  small  pauses  between  things  mentioned  as  he  gestures  vaguely  referring  to  everything  surrounding  them ,  the  king  of  all  gods  could  never  be  satisfied  with  just  this .    "  you  knew  who  you  were  marrying ,  surely  you  knew  what  you  were  agreeing  with . i do not do the things i do to hurt you , it has nothing to do with happiness , there will never be one thing that will be enough to satisfy me .  "    after  all  his  affairs  and  even  his  marriage  to  metis  were  all  well  known  facts  before  @thecs caught his attention all those years ago .

          as  a  child  @aresdeus  had  been  once  adored ,  but  that  took  a  complete  turn  as  he  grew  up  to  be  ever  so  violent  and  so  enthusiastic  about  war  and  bloodshed  -  in  zeus'  view ,  gods  were  meant  to  bring  balance  to  the  mortals'  lives ,  not  thrive  on  their  pain  and  suffering ,  their  worst  moments  -  which  seemed  to  be  ares'  source  of  power .    "  you  will  never  be  good  enough .  to  be  good  enough  you  need  to  be  good  to  begin ,  which  no  god  whose  power  sources  from  pain  and  suffering  ever  will  be .  "    he's  harsh  with  his  words ,  ares  was  not  to  be  spared  and  if  there  was  any  possibility  of  redemption  then  this  was  the  way  to  find  it .  his  voice  echoes  through  the  place  making  objects  in  its  way  vibrate ,  a  sign  that  his  temper  was  being  tested .

          an  electrical  current  begins  at  the  tip  of  his  fingers  creating  small  thunder bolts  as  it  spread  over  his  whole  hands .  he's  containing  it  there ,  not  meaning  to  start  a  fight  but  readying  for  one  should  it  be  needed .  the  god  catches  himself  in  the  middle  of  a  battle  in  a  planet  too  far  for  the  mortals  to  know  about  -  the  same  mortals  he  should  be  looking  after .   "  i am zeus , i  take  no  part  in  this  battle .  "    his  voice  is  loud  and  clear  despite  the  complete  mayhem  surrounding  them , the gods powers extended beyond olympus and earth .    "  i  am a god ,  what  are  you ?  " he asks without giving it much thought as to how the question would be taken , but far too amazed by her power to notice . if his predictions were correct he knew who this was , but he'd rather hear it from her .

          it  is  a  true  effort  not  to  dramatically  roll  his  eyes ,  the  god  takes  a  dramatic  deep  breath  instead  -  part  because  he  was  so  focused  on  hiding  the  eye  roll  that  he'd  lost  control  over  the  rest .  and  they  called  him  dramatic .    "  i  do  not  hate  you ,  sweetie ,  but  your  mother  insists  that  you  find  a  better  suitor .  "    after  all  it  was  just  marriage ,  why  was  it  so  difficult  to  just  marry  someone  that  demeter  found  fit  and  then  have  her  fun  afterwards ,  save  him  a  headache  in  the  process .    "  what  is  it  about  hades ,  either  way ,  he's  so ..  gloomy  and  moody .  "    an  expression  of  disgust  replaces  the  annoyed  one  although  for  a  split  second  it  felt  as  though  he  was  commenting  about  it  to  himself before his eyes are on @tobedisastrous once again .    "  you  would  be  queen ,  however ..  ah ,  ambition ,  that  must  be  the  reason  why .  "
