The City of Alexandria's Public Art Program named Nina Cooke John (@ninacookejohn) as the next artist to create a public art installation in Waterfront Park in 2023. Selected by a task force and approved by the Alexandria Commission for the Arts, she will create an original, site-specific work inspired by Alexandria.⁣ ⁣ Nina is the founding principal of Studio Cooke John Architecture and Design, a multidisciplinary design studio that values placemaking as a way to transform relationships between people and the built environment.
