I think it’s so interesting how all the ways a person can deal with emotional/physical abuse are shown in all for the game…
we have Renee, who finds salvation in her religion, who doesn’t forget who she was but works every single day to become the person she wants to be;
Allison, who uses her image and glam as both a weapon to take down those who dare stand against her, and a shield to protect herself when things come falling down;
Seth, who fought, and fought, and lost;
Dan, who shows her strength in every action, who encounters hardships and says “fuck you, I’m better than this”;
Matt, whose inner strength is mirrored by his physical strength…he will either support you with everything he has, or take you the fuck down for messing with him/his family;
Aaron, who is so, so angry from everything that has happened, who feels the unjustness of it all so acutely and doesn’t know how to handle it;
Nicky, whose optimism will prevail always, no matter what life throws at him- in fact, he challenges life to hit him harder because he knows that he will still have hope;
Kevin, who struggles with severe anxiety and borderline alcoholism because he can’t take the pain of it all;
Andrew, who doesn’t let himself feel anything so that he doesn’t have to feel everything, who locks his hatred away so it will only be targeted at himself;
And Neil, who lets his obsession drive his will to live, who has only ever let himself just barely get by, who drops and runs at the slightest sign of trouble.
And it’s so perfect because each of them give something to the group- they all compliment each other in at least some ways. They are survivors..they are fighters..they are foxes.
