omg thanks for the ask he was unfortunately/fortunately canonically at cambridge (at least for his phd) and i know little about their colleges.. if he was at oxford for undergrad or a masters, though i dont headcanon he was, i'd give him something lowkey but old like lincoln or exeter.. or actually maybe one of the ex women's colleges i could see him as a st hugh's guy. put that gay boy in somerville so he can glare at the thatcher bust. and maybe kiss it a little.
it's an annoying thing to headcanon bc (apart from family/nepotism connections and degree/subject/scholarship requirements) colleges feel picked entirely at random and often don't have like so much of an obvious marked effect on a person (unless they went to one of the big three or like oriel.... imo.. but then there are a million exceptions bc normal people go to them too). but ollie feels like such a middle of the road guy that i don't see him so much in the newer, cooler colleges, or in the very rich very old ones (do NOT make me think about ollie at christ church he might have tried to become prime minister)
all that being said, if he was at oxford he was definitely involved in the union, but not as an elected committee member i know he was doing the oxford union equivalent to civil service work as well as the elections. sneaking behind the scenes. rigging votes. wishing he was in that fuckass throne but never actually trying to make it there apart from maybe an attempted campaign in the trinity of his first year that fails terribly.
