on the bright side in between reading seneca, our protest at the oxford union against them inviting stephen yaxley-lennon, laurence fox, and also tbh jacob rees-mogg even though he was arguing on the side of islam was Highly successful. due to us the debate started an hour and a half late and the chamber (which holds aqround 400 people) only had around 70 and looked very desolate. we were there until 1am at which point we thought they'd left because the people down at the other exit had left, but i found out afterwards the debate only ended at 1... anyways i did see a video of yaxley-lennon getting a fucking kebab afterwards which is so disgusting and tbh classic for an avowed anti-immigrant racist

it was a very different experience protesting in the UK, especially in oxford, as compared to back home, just in the fact that so many more eyes and cameras were on us, and the figure we were protesting is at the centre of british far-right politics. we did start chanting "we made the daily mail" near the end of the night

but it was heartening because there were so many more of us than the racist thugs who also showed up (crowd of around 600 or more versus idk 30?), and we were able to have a real effect.

there are more of us than them.
