I like llorumi when it's "I can fix her/ I can make him worse" but with a twist
Lloyd wanted to save Rumi in SoG. He couldn't accept the Quiet One, couldn't accept that the different personas of Harumi were in fact the same person, so he couldn't accept Harumi. Not until it was too late. Throughout Hunted, Lloyd tried to view the Quiet One as nothing more then a villain, he tried to believe that any other persona or aspect of Harumi was just a lie. Obviously, he couldn't. In the end, he was forced to reconcile with everything she gave him, lies but also truth. Every scar is all the more deeper because of it. When Lloyd sees Harumi again in Crystalized, he wants to save her still, but for a different reason then before. Now Lloyd does see all aspects of Harumi, he sees her as a whole, not just desperate masks, and wants to help her, but like before, he can't. Before though, Lloyd wanting to help Harumi was very much based on himself. He didn't want the Quiet One, he wanted Rumi. In crystalized though, it's based on Harumi. It doesn't matter what Lloyd wants, it's what Harumi wants. Lloyd tries to take her with him, he's throws them into Primeval's Eye to do so. But in the end, he lets her go, and in doing so, Harumi's given a choice to either go or stay. Lloyd can't help Harumi, he can't save her, not unless she wants to be saved.
Harumi, in the other hand, wanted to ruin Lloyd. That was her goal in SoG. It was why she manipulated him and meticulously broke him down. She had him shoved in a mask and she wanted the Green Ninja to suffer. She keeps trying this, she keeps poking and prodding and trying to get Lloyd to break, and she succeeded but also failed. Harumi hurt Lloyd in a way nobody else had but he never really backed down. He was never submissive to her, he stood by his beliefs, and in the end, he never let her stop him. Harumi ended Hunted by having her mask destroyed, but also Lloyd's. You'd think she'd just let it go, rest in peace and all that, but noooo. Harumi chooses the Overlord, chooses life, and comes back more bitter than ever. And she's dead set on making Lloyd worse. She's at it again, breaking him down piece by piece, trying to get his oni side to emerge, and it does. Harumi brings out the worse in Lloyd in so many different ways, and in doing so, it has an ironic effect of tearing the Green Ninja mask away from the person beneath it. She makes Lloyd's flaws ever present and in doing so, makes him human. She forces him to reconcile with the things about himself he clearly tries to hide away.
I just think llorumi is the "I can fix her/ I can make him worse" meme but with an ironic twist. Lloyd wants desperately to save Harumi, but he can't. Harumi wants to make Lloyd worse, but can't. They're the epitome of unstable force meets immovable object
