Ale.

Should have made this post sooner, but better slightly late than never. At the end of last month, we welcomed in a new family member! Our little Sophia Saldana was born September 28th, 2024. Here are some pictures spread out from then till now.

We had a baby shower this past weekend!

It was a great time! We're so thankful to our family that came together and made this happen. The heat was brutal. You can't tell in these pictures, but mid day was over 100 degrees. The cold drinks helped.

Haven’t been here in a while. I guess that’s how it goes sometimes.

Since I was last here, we’ve informed all of our family that we’re expecting and that she’s due to arrive this fall!

We’re trying to still do stuff like we for the most part would normally do. Alejandra has been doing great throughout it all. People have asked me “so you’re pregnant?” I jokingly respond: ‘yes, well im not, my wife is.” I understand what they’re saying in asking. I understand the answer is yes. But I also think that enough credit can’t go to the mother. What happens to their body is fascinating in the best humanly way possible. They literally carrying the weight of the child. I’m just here to be any kind of support she needs while the bun in the oven bakes. It’s all crazy and very exciting!

We do feel like the pups know something is up, but I don’t think they know a new member of the family is in the way. They’re definitely actually a little different. Slightly more protective over the mama. They’re adjusting, I guess. I think we all are.

Too kick off the start of summer, we spent the weekend in Newport.

It was a nice local getaway. A good little distraction.

We have a dove that laid an egg right outside our backyard. She’s been there for about a week and a half now. We’re keeping an eye on it to see when it hatches. She’s been pretty dedicated, there day in and day out so hopefully it all goes smooth for her.

We’ve also had a bunny that’s been visiting us.

There’s also a gopher snake that’s been jumping around between ours and our neighbors back yard, but they aren’t as photogenic as the bunny. Alejandra has spotted our roadrunner friend Jerry around, but I haven’t seen him so haven’t had the chance to snap a picture.

Mar 20th - Apr 1st 2023

This was another great trip Puerto Vallarta with Alejandra. From the beginning, she said, this isn't a vacation, it's more of a trip to visit family. And that we did.

The first full night, Ale's aunt made us dinner at the Casa Coco, a rental property they look over. Above is the view from the house.

The first week, we spent the night in a cabin at Jorullo Paradise. Alejandra and I stayed at the Cordorniz Cabin. All of this was to celebrate Jose's birthday. It was a neat little getaway within a getaway.

We got to catch dinner on one of the nights at a place we went to the first time I went with Alejandra. On another one of the nights, we got to go out -- Jose showed us a really cool little bar right on the beach.

With Alejandra's family, a good group of us took a day trip to Tehuamixtle, a little coast city about 2 hours away from Puerto Vallarta.

Getting there from Puerto Vallarta was a little tough. The trip was made up of many winding roads. I got car sick and thought I wasn't going to make it. The water was freezing, but Alejandra and her cousins still got it. I didn't. By the way, this place has some of the biggest oysters you'll ever see.

We also had a really cool opportunity to do a Polaris RZR Tour at the Canopy River which if you ever get a chance you should definitely do! You end up going over one of the highest suspended bridges.

We also did a dinner and a show with Rhythms of the Night. Another one worth checking out if you're in the area.

We visited Alejandra's grandparents ranch. Some of her uncle's still have homes there or in the area.

And one of the big ones was being able to see the house that her parents are making.

Seeing the house almost didn't happen. We just had to find the time.

The trip ended with Alejandra's Grandma's birthday! We were suppose to fly out the night before but the airline company changed the departure date from Friday to Sunday, so we were able to attend the party!

That's a picture of her grandma and all of the grandkids that could be there. Our plane was leaving the next morning at like 7 am so this was also the night we had to say goodbye to everyone. It was a little emotional saying goodbye to everyone.
