At this point, Aaliyah really should have known not to text and walk at the same time because it wasn’t the first time she had almost bumped into somebody else. She shook her head at the woman that she somewhat recognized, somebody she saw around town a lot but hadn’t really spoken to yet. “No worries, I definitely can shoulder some of the blame. No use in crying over unspilt strawberries, right?” Aaliyah smiled softly.

Aless laughed at the young woman response, nodding along to the sentiment. “You are far too kind. Honestly kudos to you for that reply, by the way, very clever.” She hummed, smiling softly at the other. Honestly, maybe it was from all the years of living in L.A., but it still came as a shock to her whenever someone wasn’t rude during such an encounter as this. It brightened her day a bit. “Hopefully this will be the only near human collision you have today. I believe the max for a week is 2 right?” She joked with a soft laugh, smirk quirking the corner of her mouth upwards. 

“It definitely does mean we’ll get more stuff in.” Henrik grinned at her, gesturing for her to go get ready. He had changed accordingly, upon leaving to get breakfast for the two of them, so he was ready for the carnival already. Their kids were at Aless’ cousin’s house having a sleepover with their cousins, so it was the perfect time to go on a date. Making sure to grab his wallet, phone, and keys, he slipped them in his pockets before waiting on his phone for Aless.

Carnivals had always enchanted her to some degree after her parents and her had moved to the states. Whenever one would roll into Vegas Aless would use whatever money she could scrape together to take her siblings. But with their proposal having been at one, Henrik had made carnivals all the more exciting and fun for the woman. She quickly ran off to get herself ready and change into something more comfortable for their adventure, and finally made her way back to him. “Okay mi corazón, I’m ready when you are.” Bouncing a little on the balls of her feet. If anyone could make her feel like a teenager all over again, it was her husband. 

“  no  problem  ”  she  said  dismissively,  a  warm  smile  on  her  lips.  “  don’t  say  that  it’s  fine,  you’re being  too  hard  on  yourself  ”  leilani  assured. “  that’s  a  nice  mantra that  i  will  write  down  if  i  ever  decide to  have  kids  ”  she  joked.  “  she’s  the  prettiest,  i’m  pretty  sure  she  takes  it  from  you  ”  the  young  woman  smiled. “  i’m  leilani  ”  she  grinned. “  where  were  you  guys  heading  ?  ”  she  asked  curiously, mostly  because  there  was  a  lot  of  people  around and  if  the  other  needed help  she  would  be  down.  “  not  asking  as  a  creep  but  someone who  should  be  behind  a  stall  and  doesn’t  wanna  be  there  for  another hour  ”

leilani  would  be  there  no  matter  what,  she  loved  everything  that  came  with  walking  around stalls  just  taking a  look  at  the  thing  they  were  selling,  but  in  that  case  she  was  standing behind  a  stall,  just  because  her  boss  thought it  would  be  nice  for  the  shop.  the  young  woman  left  the  stall  as  one  of  her  co-workers  arrived.  leilani  bumped  into  someone,  that  she  hadn’t seen  obviously.  “  don’t  worry, i  wasn’t  looking either  ”  she  assured  with  a  smile. “  people  love  giving  advice, taking  our  own  advice  it’s  hard  ”  leilani  assured. “  hi  ”  she  whispered looking  down  at  the  girl  with  a  smile.

Relishing in the kiss as he did with them always, he hummed against them, pleased. “I’m glad you’re excited. It will be fun like always. I think New Haven will make it fun, yeah?” He pressed another tender kiss to her lips. “I got the tickets already so alway we need to do is just get ready and head there whenever you want to go. I don’t think we’ve ever gone as early as now before, have we?”

“Darling, let’s be honest. Anything with you is always fun for me.” She hummed, words genuine as she softly and easily kissed him back. “Sounds absolutely perfect. I just have to change—I really don’t think I’d appreciate me in my pajamas—and then I’m ready whenever you are.” Aless laughed. “Because I’m in desperate need of our carnival day to start as soon as possible.” Thinking on his question for a second, the woman shook her head. “I can’t recall that we ever have, no. So that means we’ll be able to get more stuff in, right?”

“I think so too. Plus, you know the twins, they’ll keep an eye out for Cress. Let’s plan for that next then. I’m sure the kids would be estatic.” Never being able to resist the urge once hearing her laugh, he pecked a soft kiss on her lips. “I’m happy to hear that. I miss my wife. I can’t wait to spend time with you and the kids.” He pulled her into a side hug, his head resting on the top of her head briefly.

“Alright, alright. Meanwhile I’ll be there to talk you up. I‘d say it was my speciality by now. Otherwise, you know the drill. If you want to escape…”

Aless nodded in complete agreement. “Absolutely. They’re already the best older brothers, though I had no doubt they would be with your genes in the mix.” She teased. “You kidding? They’re going to be thrilled, we’ll have to make a fun little calendar for them to cross off the days on until the trip.” Aless laughed with a bright smile, kissing him back softly. “Well good, I was hoping you weren’t enjoying being away too much. I know can’t wait to get back to just being us, with the kids, at home again.”

“And I with you too, dragi, catch me hyping you up as much as possible. Oh of course, you know me. At some point I’m probably going to want to bounce…unless you’re enjoying yourself that is.” She chuckled. Henri always had a way of turning parties around for her.

“Oh my god,” Nora says, keeping her voice relatively low, “I heard a rumor about you doing something with Netflix and I didn’t know if it was true.” She positively beams at Aless, having been a fan since even before she’d caught her own break, when she’d been a freshman in high school watching Gossip Girl with her friends and trying to emulate the Serena Van Der Woodsen aesthetic. “That’s so exciting, you totally need this vacation then. I’ve got some really fun stuff going on too, we’re starting filming for Wicked almost as soon as I get back to LA. I’m gonna be back and forth between there and filming in London for a few months, I’m being crazy and finishing up my new album too. We desperately need to see each other more, I’m gonna need some serious wine nights while I’m working myself to the bone.”

Normally Aless wouldn’t share much about her projects with anyone (outside of her husband) but there were a few she trusted, and Nora was one of them. She nodded with an excited grin, both about being able to tell the younger girl about it and seeing the other’s reaction. “You heard right, and I can’t wait for it to come out. It’s going to be fun.” Aless replied, sipping at her drink as she listened to Nora spill all about what she’d been up to, the older woman listening with keen interest. “¡Dios mío! All of that sounds like such a blast and honestly, I couldn’t be more proud either. I expect to know the second I can preview your new album because I can’t even tell you how excited I am for that. And you in Wicked? Darling you’re going to kill it. We will definitely make some time for wine nights with our schedules, I promise chica.”

having spent the better part of the morning recovering from the night before, oliver was looking forward to making the most of his last day in cabo. & what better way to do so than by exploring the local marina boardwalk ? of course, it was an adventure he wasn’t keen on tackling alone & he had somehow convinced alessandra to tag along. “thanks for coming with me, by the way. you know how i hate too much alone time. i promise i won’t keep you from henrik for too long,” oli jokes. “not to be a total tourist, but d’ya reckon they have a gift shop ‘round here. i’m not sure my mom will speak to me again if i bring her back another airport souvenir, y’know ?”
