the sunsets are hazy with plow dust and early spring scud clouds hang over the foothills blocking then showing then blocking the sun. still there’s a lot of magic out there. 

we went out looking for overland flooding and some how ended up where I tend to come back to. this abandoned grain elevator just out of the badlands. at sunset. how many times have I been here? how does it always look different. This time we had a strong chinook arch and the sun was filtered through a thin layer of atmosphere and seemed like it was hanging above the ground. whatever it touched, it touched lightly. I overuse the word magical but it was just so. magical.
