I draw art for multiple AUs, so here's a short summary of the main ones, with their tags linked.
Being Human [Error: file not found]
Canon divergence from The Trial. They find out Steven is a Diamond, so now he is stuck on Homeworld having to play the role of a Diamond. He wants to learn how the Gem society works, with the intent to make changes--all while trying to solve the issue of his gem's coding, which is trying to revert to its original (non-hybrid) setting.
Berrynilla Split AU
TLDR, imagine a CYM gone wrong in which Steven is permanently split. His gem half, Strawberry, has now to play the role of Pink Diamond, while his human half, Vanilla, is treated as a pet (by the Gems, not Strawberry), and only tolerated due to their link (neither would survive without the other). I refer to their Steven as Cookie (he's a cookie cat!).
Blue Diamond Steven
Canon divergence. Instead of staying in Beach City, Greg follows his dream of becoming a rockstar, later meeting Blue Diamond while touring through Korea. Rose and the Crystal gems are still around. I refer to this Steven as Azul.
D/L.Rebirth
SU if it were more fantasy based. There's a whole magic system and gems are from a different dimension. I call this steven Lotus, he's a rose quartz, and he turns into a vampire because his human half dies and is reanimated with necromancy.
Omegaverse post-SUF AU
What the title says. There's a fic that I'll not be linking here. The AU itself is mostly just slice of life with actual word building but not so much plot. I often draw this particular Steven being cute in general, the rest is not that important.

High school can be pretty rough, but Mika just might have it worse than average. So, when he finds a pretty mysterious book, he does what any reasonable person on the brink of a breakdown would do: summon a demon.

My most popular fic is Come Crashing, currently on Hiatus but not discontinued (trust). It features canon divergence with vamp mikayuu.

This focuses more on Venti first, and Albedo second. ALSO DAHLIA NOW LOL, I love Dahlia. Dahlia is a dragon here.
Archon Dahlia AU - not written yet! But I draw it a lot lately. Basically, Venti dies some years in the future, Dahlia meets Istaroth and makes a deal with her, so he goes back in time (right before the game prologue) and pretty much becomes the new archon, and Venti lives.

You know one thing I surprisingly never see in SU fanfic where Steven or Nora or whoever ends up on Homeworld?
There's no way all the Crystal Gems got Corrupted and some didn't escape during the evacuation with the Homeworld Gems. Like there HAD be Crystal Gems that had shifted their forms to a Homeworld Diamond Uniform and joined the fleeing ships.
Why is the possibility of secret Crystal Gems on Homeworld never explored in fanfics? Or the possibility of other rebel groups starting up and other wars going on as a result? What about another rebel group trying to kill Steven/Nora/Whoever after they come to Homeworld and are announced as the new fourth Diamond?
Definitely something I think should be explored more often.

anyways, you're right, i suppose there's not much of that.
i do think i read a similar idea once, but i can't recall the name of the fic now. it had some rebels hiding in HW, but it wasn't steven POV so there wasn't that much focus on that
i suppose it would be interesting for steven to face crystal gems in HW, while holding the position of a diamond. they'd accuse him of being like the others, and while he'd like to clarify that was not the case, he likely also would have to be very careful with his words. ahaha great angst potential for sure, his internal conflict

This is from my archon dahlia au, which I want to write EVENTUALLY. tldr venti dies, but then istaroth comes in and time shenanigans happen. Dahlia makes a deal with her of sorts, and he can impede venti from dying, but is now the new archon. yeah.
