Alaska couldn't leave now. There was so much left to be done, so much left to be said, so much left to see. She had never left the country, she had never gone and done shots with her friends in a bar, she had never told Freddie that she loved him, truthfully. Her life couldn't be cut so short. Yes, she killed herself everyday, driving recklessly and smoking too much, but that was different. It was different know that she was actually here on the brink of death, staring him right in the eyes. She wasn't ready to go.
There was no way she was going to miss out on when Holden and Jane actually got married, or when Pudge and Lara finally got together, even though they probably wouldn't work out, or when Chip and Sarah finally stopped being dysfunctional. She was going to walk across that stage when she graduated from the institute, and grab her diploma, and flip off the eagle just because she could. She was going to have sleepless nights at Columbia University in New York with Holden and Jane, going out partying. She was going to study hard and she was going to become a teacher, and she was going to help her students more than her teachers ever helped her.
Alaska saw the blood spread across her body and her clothes and nearly fainted right there, but she forced herself to take a breath in through her mouth, keeping the rusty smell of iron away from her nose to keep her from passing out. She needed to stay awake, so that when Hannibal made the body drop, when he thought she was dead, she'd come back. She'd be okay. There was no way she was hurting her friends like this.
Her thoughts wandered to Freddie. He was so fragile. He pretended to be the strong one, but she knew that somewhere underneath, he was just as broken as she was, and together, they somehow managed to hold each other together with tape and glue and a whole lot of sheer will. This was going to destroy him, her dying. She couldn't let that happen. She couldn't let herself be the one thing that broke him.
The pain was unbearable. It consumed her mind, screaming signals being sent from her abdomen up to her brain. She wanted to groan, to cry, to scream, to do anything to release this animal of horror that had been building up in her chest, but she didn't have the energy. Instead, crystalline tears welled up in her eyes and spilled out over onto her cheeks.
Alaska had stopped fighting against the restraints at this point. She never would have guessed that she would have stopped fighting, but then again, a lot changes when someone steals your organs. Alaska made one last, feeble attempt against the leather straps, but she could barely move. No matter how much she tried to convince herself that this wasn't it, somewhere in the back of her brain, she knew it was. Alaska used up the last of her breath to say her last, golden, shining words.
"I'm coming to see you, Mom."
Don't be afraid.

Hannibal watched as the girl slowly drifted away from the living world. ”I hope you meet your mother wherever you go and come to terms with her. I’m sorry you suffered.”
After a moment of silence, Hannibal started to clean up: washing his gloved hands and utensils, properly storing the liver away into his fridge, patching Alaska back up, and gently cleaning the blood away. He laid her on the plastic sheeting and cleaned the counters.
He kept his gloves on and wrapped her in the sheet. He picked her up with ease and sat her in the back of his car. Snow started to fall as he drove through town, looking for the an empty alleyway and no one within blocks of the alleyway. He carefully placed he onto the cold ground. Making sure there was no evidence that would lead to him, he got back to his car and drove home.
Don't be afraid.

His Lost Angel: A Fralaska Death Mix
“You can’t just make yourself matter and then die, Alaska, because now I am irretrievably different, and I’m sorry I let you go, yes, but you made the choice. You left me Perhapsless, stuck in your goddamned labyrinth. And now I don’t even know if you chose the straight and fast way out, if you left me like this on purpose. And so I never knew you, did I? I can’t remember, because I never knew.”
(listen)
Don't be afraid.

It’s really not a problem. I know, Alaska… and I’m really glad that I do. Without you, I think I’d probably just end my life because there’s not really much purpose to my life besides making you happy. I proved that when we were apart for a while. [he smiles and kisses her back] Get on home then, I love you so much.
I'll see you tomorrow, darling. [she walks off, a smile on her face as she waves one last time at Freddie]
Don't be afraid.
Hannibal tsked at her, putting down the now-empty syringe and picked up a scalpel. ”Don’t be afraid, Ms. Young. You will only feel a pinching. And then a little more once I start cutting away your liver.” He hovered the scalpel over her skin and looked at her face.
He chuckled. ”Oh, I can’t let you go now, Ms. Young — it’s far too late for that. But, you are quite rude. I gave you many chances to redeem yourself and you just kept letting me down. The world has no need for the rude — they just make it more unpleasant than it already is. I tried to help you, but you would not listen. I would hate for you to continue suffering.”
He brought the scalpel down and cut into her skin, blood blooming from the incision. He moved the scalpel smoothly and expertly as he began removing the skin to uncover what he was after underneath.
Don't be afraid.
Hannibal heard her stir and he chuckled, turning around to answer the panicking you woman. ”Of course I’m a doctor, Ms. Young — I went to school and worked hard for my degree. And, as for what I’m doing: I’m going to extract a few of your organs.” Hannibal was quite blunt with his victims. It did not matter, they were going to die anyway.
He tied on his white apron; he didn’t want to get his clothes messy even though he was quite neat. He picked up a syringe from the counter behind him that he got earlier, Novocaine to numb the area he would cut into. He didn’t want her to suffer too much, but he did want her to stay awake to see. He cut away half of her shirt to reveal her stomach. He injected the Novocaine around the area above where her liver was located.
"You're going to what?!?" Alaska's breathing grew even shorter and more rapid, and she started to go lightheaded. Forcing herself to take a deep breath, she closed her eyes for a moment. There had to be a way out of this, there had to be. Her thoughts wandered to her friends, to Jane and Holden and Pudge and the Colonel...her thoughts wandered to Freddie. I have to get out of this. For them. I have to get out of this for them.
Alaska opened her eyes to see Hannibal cutting away part of her shirt and injecting her with what she hoped was just a simple anesthetic. "You don't have to do this, you know," she murmured. "You know me, Doc. You know who I am, and even you said that I don't deserve to die. You could let me go, and I promise, I won't tell anyone about this. I promise, no one will know." She swallowed. "Please."

Don't be afraid.
Once the girl was limp in his arms, Hannibal made sure to pick up her belongings with his handkerchief over his hand. No need to leave any evidence. He held Alaska bridal style and walked down dark and low traffic pathways. He took her back to his office and placed her carefully into her care, being sure to buckle her in — safety first.
He drove through the empty and dark streets to he home — a place on the outskirts of town, the surrounding wood his only neighbour. He parked and removed her, bringing her inside and into the kitchen. He laid her on the marble counter and strapped her down. He gathered his proper tools, dressed into something more comfortable, put on gloves, and laid down plastic sheeting. All the while he hummed to himself and ran through various recipes in his head. He knew she would wake soon.
As Alaska came to, she blinked in the seemingly bright light. She went to get up, but found that she was restrained. Her eyes widened, and her pupils dilated as the fear started to take over her body. Her breaths grew short and frantic as she looked around. "Oh my god, oh my fucking god," she cursed under her breath as she listened to the nonchalant humming from beside her.
"What the hell are you doing?" Alaska yelled at Hannibal. "Who the hell are you? Are you even a real doctor?" Adrenaline coursed through her body as she searched for a way out, her eyes flicking rapidly around the room that she suddenly realized was a kitchen. Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck,oh fuck...She was in way over her head.
Don't be afraid.
He watched Alaska go with calculating eyes. He knew the girl would go off somewhere she felt safe as soon as possible and he needed to act fast. Of course, he did not worry about how this will all look after it was all done -- the police always listened and trusted doctors more than most.
As soon as Alaska closed the door behind her, Hannibal grabbed his jacket quickly and ran out of the office -- making sure to lock it before he was gone. He saw Alaska's figuring walking down the sidewalk in the distance, steering clear or her line of site. It was easy in the dark. Every time she looked over her shoulder, he would duck out of the way. He hated this part of what he did; it was such a hassle.
He knew by her direction that she wasn't going home, but probably to a friend's house that was nearer. He would have to get to her quickly before she reached her destination. He quickened his pace as she did hers. He looked around quickly to make sure no one would see and he broke into a sprint, coming up behind the girl an grabbing her. He held a hand over her mouth I quiet her and shushed her.
"Now now, Ms. Young. There's no need to struggle. I'm here to help you and me." He started to suffocate her, being sure not to kill her. He only wanted her to pass out from lack of air.
Alaska whispered frantically into the phone at Jane, feeling her heart racing and her flight or fight response kicking in. However, as she fumbled with getting her keys out, she felt a hand clamp around her mouth and nose, and the panic level rose. She screamed into the hand, trying to open her mouth to bite her attacker, but her mouth was held too tightly. Looking up and seeing the monster from her childhood behind Hannibal's eyes she started screaming, the sound muffled by his freezing hand over her face.
The phone dropped out of her hand, and her eyes slowly shut as oxygen stopped flowing to her brain.
Text to Alaska
J: I love you too, Alaska Young
J: Okay, okay, just try to stay calm... Look around and make sure there's no one following you.
J: Now, if you have your keys on you, take them out. Just your car keys, not the dorm key. If anyone's approaching you don't use them to claw their eyes out, at that point they'd be too close. Chuck them at them. Worst goes to worse you don't have car keys any more but you should aim for the face and buy some time.
J: Okay, hang on a second I'm gonna look up more things to do...
A: Okay, um...[fumbles with her keys] here I got them and OH FUCK!
A: [muffled scream]
A: --phone drops, line clicks dead--
