He couldn't even form any words when she told him to get the pizza. Tae-ho merely sighed, pushing himself off the counter as he shuffled towards the hallway. When he appeared a minute later with the heavenly smelling box, Tae-ho opened it promptly and pushed it towards Lacey. "Eat up," he murmured, picking out a piece and handed it to her. "Also, if you wish to just chug your way through the rosΓ© bottle, I am not going to judge you. At all." Moving back tot he fridge, he took out a few more soju bottles, placed them onto the counter before digging into the food as well.
Tae-ho chewed on several bites before deciding to break the silence. "Where was I just now?" he pondered out loud as if he had forgotten his own monologue. "Right..." he cleared his throat, eyes shifting away from Lacey. "You staying away didn't make us happy, Lacey." A heavy sigh. "It kinda proved Lara's point. And I don't know if it was the illness or it was just her depression imposing on her but the last few months before she passed away...." Tae-ho chewed on his inner cheek. "We fought about you every damn day. Without fail."
Lacey was suggesting the idea of chugging the wine bottle, it was tempting but the headache the next day not so much, her dark eyes eyed his soju in comparison and wrapped her fingers around the wine bottle to take a sip before reaching for the pizza, the best combo ever to exist was wine and pizza. Probably better if it was riesling wine but it was wine none the less. Hearing him continue the conversation, Lacey chewed on her lower lip as she wished he got side tracked by the pizza and soju, but she should have figured he wouldn't let things go. She almost forgot how persistent he can be when it's a topic that needed to be discussed.
Hearing about the fact she was the topic of argument between her two best friends brought her mid-stop with the bottle of wine and lowered it to the counter to finally look over at Tae-ho, her eyebrows raising at this new found information. "Excuse me, what? Why? I thought you two were happy...I mean that's what I assumed but you're guys posts always made it seem like that."
Her smile was infectious and the amusement colouring her dark hues was something Tae-woo didn't expect himself to enjoy. As much as Tae-woo had the knack of keeping a mysterious air to himself, he found himself actually willing to delve further than small talk with Lana. He scoffed lightly, although in a teasing manner. "My hobbies and interests?" he echoed, eyes narrowing playfully. "Let's make this interesting rather than just playing 20 questions with a stranger at the airport, shall we?" He chuckled. "Guess them. 3 guesses and if you get at least one of them correct, I'll buy you another basket of wings," he promised. "Or... anything at the duty free counters. $100 cap."
"Oh bringing in the big guns huh?" Lana couldn't stop the laughter from escaping, she was now interested in this little game he suggested between them. She adjusted herself in her seat and pushed away some fly away bangs behind her ear as she cleared her throat, "Okay...so let's see...you carry this aura around you that screams business so I'm guessing you work something along the lines of finance...law...or some corporate boring job." Lana tilt her head, "Second, you avoid the question whether or not your vanilla or spicy so maybe you're a little prudish...." she drummed her fingers on the counter and added the final answer. "And lastly, you think I'm quirky or interesting because well you're keeping the conversation going."
"You what?" Jealousy had sunk its claws deep into her skin and Adra paused in her tracks. "What did you just say? Used to date?" She didn't even let Natalie say anymore as her feet propelled her frame forwards. Adra wrenched the freezer door open, retrieving the pint Natalie had stowed away just a few minutes earlier. "An ex-boyfriend... delivering you ice cream at our doorstep..." she scoffed as she slammed the door shut. "I'm not sure if you're just naive and think of nothing..." Adra rambled on, her digits getting cold from the holding the container. Without a second thought, Adra hurled the pint onto the floor. Her voice grew louder. "Or you're up to something and you don't want me suspecting ANYTHING!" The impact was strong enough to send the flimsy container crash onto the wooden floor, ice cream hurtling across it like haphazard paint.
Natalie flinched at the sound of the ice cream hitting the ground, the sound of Adra's voice soaking with jealousy seeped into her veins at the fact her girlfriend was jumping to conclusions. She stood there silently and placed a hand onto the counter and looked at the mess she created before looking back at Adra and motioned for the mess. "So you're just going to be a child and throw a tantrum over a pint of ice cream?" Maybe if she was more clear headed but she just wasted a perfectly good ice cream that she was saving for later. Now that pissed Natalie off even more considering she was raised paycheck to paycheck and relying on food stamps growing up, so she never wasted food.
"Adra," She started with a sigh and tried to keep calm for the both of them. "Just because you're upset does not mean you can go wasting food."
Khalid was utterly embarrassed by the welling in his eyes as Tessa assured him that she was not going to leave him. Still, he remained silent, gladly returning the squeeze on her warm digits. A shaky exhale left him. "I'm not here holding you hostage," he said softly, although it was tinged with slight amusement. "You're allowed to go home whenever you feel necessary." The thought of the home they had previously shared brought about a sudden ache to his chest.
He wondered if the things he had left behind were still there was packed away. The current tiny rental he had thereafter had packed boxes still, as if unpacking any of them totally would erase Tessa's memories from his mind. The tips of his fingers idly traced the back of hers due to habit. "I hate hospitals," he confessed quietly, lolling his head back against the pillow as his gaze shifted to the noisy beeping machine to his right. "And this machine gives me anxiety," he pointed out in a feeble attempt to make small talk.
Tessa placed her other hand on top of his and gave it a gentle reassuring squeeze as she nodded her head, she recalled his dislikes and especially when it came to hospitals. She didn't blame him, hospitals were creepy but it's weird because people can die there and while others be born into this world. It was ironic but she was more than happy to see him still laying their living and breathing. "Then just focus on me, I will be here until the nurses kick me out and say I need to go home and shower or something along the lines."
She tried to think of other topics to discuss to ease his anxiety, a thought popped in her head. "Remember when I was telling you about that big project that I wanted to do but I was too scared to give it a shot? Well...you're looking at the new designer for the new office building downtown...the inside at least."

"Now that's a little dramatic of a reaction, baby," The casual lilt of his tone hung in the air with a thick resonance. "I mean, come on, look at what he did to me!" A hand gestures to the busted brow beading a single pearl of dried blood as if it were comparable to the gore presented in their living room. "Stupid fucker was fast, I'll give him that... But not fast enough..." Stained hands reach for his partner, thumb brushing their jaw. "He should have kept his hands off of you." Beside the corpse on the coffee table, separated from the body, was the victim's hands rested there as an offering of his devotion.
Clarissa made some choices in life that were questionable but she always tried to keep a positive mindset of maybe it was in the cards or some bullshit, hell she couldn't even think clearly right now with how upset she was with Drake. When she started seeing Drake, things were good...passionate and intoxicating that she couldn't see past her rose colored frames at the fact he was toxic as they can get. She shoved his hand away from her face as she stared at Drake and let out a breathe she didn't know she was holding as she looked at her dead booty call. After her break up with Drake, she tried her hardest to get over him to the point she resorted towards the famous dating app that was mainly for hooking up and now she was standing in this predicament. "Did you have to kill him? I mean couldn't you do something normal for once like--like I don't know, throw a punch?!"

"i'm not sure if running into you was fate or just plain cruel..." cassi's lips quirk into a smile as he gently walks into them, his shoulder bumping into theirs, as the two continue their parallel pace on the sidewalk. "yet i couldn't think of a better way to spend the rarety that is a night off... thank you, for saying yes, by the way."
"What's that saying again...'You were my cup of tea, but I drink champagne now'? Either way, I like to think of it as exposure therapy." Love jokingly said as she nudged him back and adjusted the purse on her shoulder. The fact the both of them shared that mutual attraction or at least she assumed they did, she went about it so much in her head she went slightly insane with the what ifs or possible scenarios.
Okay, perhaps a breather is what they needed. Or a sip of alcohol to get a grip on reality... or two... or even three. At this point Tae-ho was scrambling internally. "Forget about it?" When Lacey started talking again, he shifted his gaze back at her. "You just told me you couldn't forget about me..." His brows furrowed, slightly confused at her stance now. "That you couldn't forget about this as much as you wanted to all these years..." Or was her confession a fluke? Something churned in the pit of his gut and Tae-ho gulped down another mouthful of soju.
"As much as you want to believe that your sacrifice was enough to make us happy... it did not." That was the bitter truth. Lara was terminally sick but it didn't mean it affected her intelligence. There were days where she'd pick a fight with him for the heck of it. There were days where they'd argue about Lacey and despite Tae-ho refusing to admit what she suspected, they both knew it was the truth. "She's gone now. It's futile to actually what could or should or would have happened." A muscle in his jaw twitched. Maybe it was the alcohol. Or the grief. But the next words were surely not what Tae-ho had expected himself to spill especially tonight. "My feelings for you have never...."
Then the doorbell rang. Pizza. How convenient.
One thing about Lacey was, whenever she was backed into a corner with no way out, she finds ways to get out of those situations. Which was probably why she said to forget she utter those words out about her feelings for Tae-ho, it was like second nature for her after all these years of denying the feelings. Just when she felt the energy shift into something more dramatic, the sweet sound of the doorbell rang and had her sagging in her place. To be honest, she didn't think she could have this talk sober, let alone when his emotions was clear across his face.
"I just--think we should...well you should go get the pizza." Lacey managed to get the words out as she gulped the last bit of her wine and walked around the counter to go towards the open bottle and pour herself another glass. If things were going to continue to further more into questioning, she might just dive into something stronger or make up some excuse to leave. Either one sounded ideal to her.
Her quick reply was met with a light scoff crossed with a snicker. "Smart... very smart... for someone with no filter," Tae-woo lamented with a smirk hooking onto his lips. He pushed the basket of chicken towards her despite the slight derision in his tone and urged her to take one. "Come on... I'm not a vanilla ass who's going to deny a woman food." He snorted as he took another bite. At her question, his eyes widened slightly again.
"That's a trick question, I am not willing to answer," he quipped, wiping off his hands with a napkin nearby. "I don't think of you as anything... we just met..." the last few words of his were muffled as he deliberately took a sip of his drink, letting the liquid burn the back of his throat. Immediately thereafter, he stuffed another wing in his mouth. No way he was going to say anything to a woman he had just met 20 minutes ago. Especially not when he was starting to feel attracted to her.
Lana couldn't help but to laugh at their reaction, it was purely amusing for her to see how quickly he shut down the question that clearly caught them off guard, it was kind of refreshing. She couldn't recall the last time she found this much amusement in one sitting much less having some delicious wings between them. "Okay, fine...I won't pester you about said question anymore."
She was interested to know more about her stranger, that was the thing she loved about airports, random people traveling to one place to another but that glorious lay over was what did it for her, except this time the flight problem was maybe a blessing in disguise from having to appear in front of her family. "So...what do you like to do, besides sharing wings and a drink with a complete stranger?"
"I'm not even gonna deny that," Kenji spoke, knowing how he could be. He was proud to be a nerd honestly and he was sure Olive understood. Plus he couldn't help himself with cheesy jokes. He was always finding new ones that he wanted to tell others even if they didn't laugh. "Oh? Gonna give me more something to tell you more cringe worthy jokes?"
"I don't know if I can handle anymore of your dad jokes," Olive jokingly stated with a chuckle, she didn't mind them at all. But sometimes, most of their jokes had her cringing at the fact he even told that to her. "It kind of reminds me of my english professor, he had a book memorized on dad jokes."

diego nodded at her answer, before chuckling when she said the time. he hadn't realized it had gotten that late, though it did take awhile for everyone to get boarded onto the ship. "all i've had to eat this whole day was a halfway decent packet of crackers and cheese, so you already know i'm starving." he said, laughing as he rubbed his stomach. "there's a formal dining room," he said as he pulled out his phone and pulled up the cruise ship's app on it. "I can check us in for a table and it'll be ready by the time we get down there."
he smiled up at her, slipping the phone back into his pocket as he motioned her to follow him out of their stateroom. "i'd hate to see you hungry and over-stimulated, I just know it would be hell." he said jokingly as they got into the elevator. they went down a few floors before the doors opened and they stepped out in front of the restaraunt. "stay here, i'll go see if our table is ready." he said as he weaved through the crowds to the hostess stand. after talking for a few minutes he came back, touching her arm gently. "come on, the tables ready." he said, guiding her towards their table.
"Okay, that works." Lily agreed as she followed him out of the room, the amount of doors down the hall gave her an eery feeling due to the horror movies she watched on the plane ride to the port. She was an avid horror movie lover and would recall always trying to make Diego watch one with her, the small memory had a small smile forming on her face before realizing they were already at the destination where she stood there and nodded.
She pulled out her phone to see messages from her parents telling her to be safe and to tell Diego they said hi. They adored him, probably one of the people they approved of her dating and couldn't understand why they broke up. When she told her parents about the cruise they weren't against it but they were kind of worried of them being in a same room where things could unfold which Lily simply shakes her head and said it would be fine. Lily chuckled lightly at her moms worried concern before placing her phone back into her bag and followed after Diego towards their table, sitting down she let out a sigh, "Wow...they weren't kidding about this being...formal."
diego watched her unpack as he leaned against the small counter they had gotten in their room. despite both of them chipping in for the bigger upgrade, the room was still very cozy. not that he minded, but he was sure that by the end of this cruise they were going to have bickered at least once. and close quarters always leads to more bickering. he glanced over at his still packed bags and couldn't help but chuckle, they definitely were complete opposites on some things. at least when they were together they got along, he was happy about that.
"I guess that's true, it's not like they'll know if i'm lying or not." he said finally, smiling at her. "so, you're all unpacked and everything now. what do you think we should do first? walk around and get a layout of the ship? or we can go swimming in one of the many pools they have here." he said jokingly.
"How about we work up a sweat to check out what goodies they have around here before we decided to go take a dip in the many swimming pools," Lily suggested with a knowing smile, "Besides the last thing I ate was on the plane and it was a sad looking sandwich." She wasn't exactly happy with the choices at her lay over and decided on a rather cheap pathetic looking sandwich at a convenience store at the airport.
"I was thinking we can grab a late lunch...well," she glanced at her wrist where her apple watch laid and saw the time, "I guess dinner now." Lily glanced at him raising her eyebrows at him to wait for his response as she fished out some comfortable sandals to put on.
he smiled at her reply, and was honestly a bit thankful that she agreed. "you are an amazing person, and don't let anyone ever tell you different." he said with a chuckle. he leaned against the frame to the bathroom, watching her put her items away. he probably should have brought more than just the few items he brought, but he figured anything else he really wanted he could just buy at one of the many shops on this ship. he hadn't even walked around yet to get a scope of where everything was and he already knew he would likely get lost at some point on this cruise.
he pursed his lips at her comment, his mind reeling as he thought it over. she wasn't entirely wrong, they had book it as a couple and honestly it wouldn't hurt to get some free stuff too. "I guess you're right." he said finally, peeling himself away from the door as he walked back into the room. "it's not like anyone here knows we're not together. so we just have to fake it a little, it can't be that hard." he turned towards her with a sly smile. "you'll have to hold my hand some though."
"I mean I'm used to it unless...you're not then that would be awkward," Lily stated as she walked back into the room after unpacking all of her things in the bathroom and continued unpacking. She was the type needing to unpack all of her things into the room before she went out to adventure the deck and what not. It was one of her downfalls but he should realize that as she placed her clothes that needed to be hanged onto hangers and turned to look at him skeptically.
"Because if anything you could just say 'oh my girlfriend or fiance is not feeling well so she can't join." Lily stated with a simple state of fact as she placed the last of her laundry into the near by drawers.
Ashe smiled, cuddling up to Lenore in their booth. "Not that I wouldn't happily nurse you back to health if it happened. So, other than another Long Island, what would you like to get before we cut ourselves off and head home, dear?" He paused as his stomach grumbled. "Or we could leave and get something to soak up the alcohol..."
Lenore smiled at Ashe as she continued cuddling him and chuckled, "Unless you're hungry?" she said softly as she used her fingers to play with his cheek as she was clearly intoxicated. "But we can totally go home too...I'm game for anything."

lily wasn't keen on the idea of going on a couples cruise with her ex, but she did put some money into it so it would be a waste to not go, after all, she always wanted to go on a cruise minus the small fear of ending up like Titanic in the huge ocean. She rolled her suitcase into the room and saw Diego already making himself at home, four months apart was actually good. Their relationship was normal, sure they had some moments where she wanted to strangle him but other than that, it didn't end on a sour note. "Are you trying to make me feel bad for the idea of you sleeping on the tiny hard sofa?" She quizzically asked as she shut the door behind her and walked further into the room, glancing around to see it was a decent room on the cruise, something she was happy she did a well researched to get the best room. "Because...it's not going to work."
diego couldn't help the smile that cracked across his lips as she spoke, she knew him so well. it didn't matter how good of a face he put on, she could always see right through everything he did. he stood from the bed, stretching his arms above his head before he spoke to her, turning his full attention towards her. "so you agree that I can sleep in the bed as well? because that couch does not look comfortable and honestly I have a pretty bad back so I don't want to sleep on the couch."
he glanced around the room, pursing his lips as he thought of what he wanted to say. even if they ended stuff on good terms it wasn't like it wasn't awkward. they weren't best friends, so they had kept each other at an arms distance. now they were going to be in close quarters...it was a bit jarring. "I appreciate you coming, even if it's going to be a bit weird." he said finally, chuckling slightly. "we don't have to spend a bunch of time together you know, i'm sure we can do stuff separately."
lily pursed her lips in thought, yeah they didn't need to spend a lot of time together which she was grateful for but wouldn't it be a little weird once they were back in the room getting ready for bed? "I suppose since I can be a good person, I'll allow it." She said jokingly as she placed her bag onto the luggage holder and unzipped it, pulling out her toiletries and walking towards the bathroom, glancing over the free items that were given.
"But I think we should also make use of pretending to be a couple to get some free things on the ship, don't you agree?" Lily said out loud, maybe it was the penny pinching in her but she wouldn't mind free things especially since people tend to give leeway to those who are just recently engaged or married.

diego sighed as he laid on the bed in their shared cabin, the sound of the waves hitting the boat as they prepared to leave the dock came spilling in from their open balcony door. this was not what he had in mind, when they booked this cruise he figured that it would be a fun thing to do as a couple. the only problem being that they weren't a couple anymore, and hadn't been for the last four months. sure their breakup had been mutual, it wasn't as if someone had cheated on the other they had just out grown each other.
he heard the automatic lock click and the door swing open, he sat up from his position and his eyes locked onto theirs when he saw them bring their bags inside. he had to admit that those months apart had been good for them, they looked good. "looks like it's a true couples cruise...they even only gave s one bed." he said, running a hand through his hair and giving them a half hearted smile. "I can call the information desk and see if they can bring in a roll in cot. or i'm sure I can sleep on our...tiny hard sofa they gave us."

" yea, i might believe you, if you hadn't kissed me a second ago, " garrett teased before lifting a hand to touch against his reddened lips, after the heat of their first kiss. clarissa was still close to him, close enough that his hand was able to snag one of wrists as she started to pull away from him, in that little dress she was wearing. she might not have meant to kiss him. doesn't mean she didn't want to. it's why this time, he's the one to take the lead and press his lips into hers, kissing her eagerly.
Clarissa froze at his movements, wanting to retort back at him about how it was a mistake until she felt his lips press against hers that her body relaxed and pressed her lips more firmly against his. To hell with her pride, how can she resist when the feel of his lips against hers felt like this? Her hands come up to pull him further down to deepen the kiss that probably was building up over the time she has tolerated him.
