Happy 9 Years to Us! =) Time has passed. We have so many good memories in the years we’ve been together. Not to mention we’ve known each other for the past 11 years! Every AdVVenture with you has been full of laughs and good eats. Happy Birthday to the love of my life =) Every year that ends I find myself reflecting upon the year’s journey with you. This year proved to be one of the most difficult, but also the most fruitful year in our journey through life together so far. But enough about us, this post is about you! Although this year was excruciatingly challenging, you shined through and are an integral part in what makes Fitzy’s life and my life as amazing as it can be. Your cute quirks, adorable sense of humor, kindness/care towards others (except call of duty), chef skills, and down-for-anything-but-not-really attitude made this year all the more memorable for me. We traveled to our first honeymoon spot together in The Maldives, then onto Singapore, and now we’ve landed in South Korea. Arrival into Maldives! We flew from the states and stopped in Singapore. Landed for a night and spent a quick few hours with Dona and Nina (thank you for the Din Tai Fung!!!). Then the next morning flew into the Velana International Airport (MLE) of Malé. From there, we went through customs & picked up our checked in luggages (which was super smooth and quick btw). We stepped outside and had a bit of trouble finding our hotel pick-up person, but we finally found him holding up a “Ritz-Carlton” sign! Our transfer boat came and we then took off to the Fari Islands! If you’ve gotten this far into reading my caption you probably just now realized that flying into The Maldives also requires you to take a boat to go to the resort that you made reservations for (which is an added cost). The boat ride was about 45 minutes long and it was a very smooth ride. We were kicking it with another couple and our conversation made the time go by very fast! All in all, the travel FROM Houston, Texas to The Maldives, Fari Islands was very smooth with no hiccups. Thank goodness!!! Truong-Honeymoon commences! We had a few stops before ultimately getting to The Maldives! We’re staying at The Ritz-Carlton here at The Maldives, Fari Islands. This is the newest Maldivian resort (as it opened to the public in June 2021). There were many other choices but we ultimately decided to go with this one as it’s the newest with the latest and greatest villas =) 
On our trip here, we were able to stop into the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge (thank goodness for my Star Alliance Gold membership lol) - at the Changi Singapore International Airport. I love this lounge! They had amazing food there! One of my favorites, Laksa was served there as well <3 I had about 3 bowls of Laksa while @vvtruong_ enjoyed their Congee =) It’s just day 1, we took this day to ourselves and really relaxed and explored this Villa that we’re taking residence in (can’t wait to show y’all). Just ecstatic that the trip of our lifetime is here! Truongsgiving Friendsgiving 2022 We hosted our first ever Truongsgiving Friendsgiving!!! The Truong household made: Homemade BO Scam (David Chang/Momofuku’s recipe) Homemade Deviled Eggs Homemade Flan Homemade Che Thai Invited our closest to feast and everyone made/bought nothing but deliciousness to the house! Our guests brought Mac & Cheese, Vietnamese Porridge with eggs and ham, Cornbread and a themed cocktail, Filipino desserts (Pandesal), Banh Khot and Nem Nuong Cuon Crispy Fried Chicken and Pecan Pie, Lumpia, Cheesecake Flan, Yummy noodles, and Egyptian Banana Cream & Baklava We also hosted our very own Truongsgiving Trivia! New Home Owners Journal #24: While we update our home with some decor I thought I’d show some appreciation to the folks that helped us move in. <3 My dad first and foremost - took so much time and effort to help me and @vvtran91 move our stuff out the apartment using his work truck. Helped me Tetris all of it onto his truck bed on two roundtrips and Tetris it once again into storage. Couldn’t have done it without him. Next, Juicy Eats (@juicyeatz , @huangger , @sleepalldaysnackallnight ). Gotta thank our quaranteam for helping us clean out our apartment and pack stuff and move stuff into their apartment for temporary livin. Miss y’all so much formal! Brother Alan (The Officiant-ado). These two called me out of the blue and asked me if I’m free on Sept. 4, 2022. I said “I don’t know it’s only March…” Then they both virtually got down on one knee and asked me if I can be their officiant. LOL just kidding they didn’t do any of that. They caught me off guard with this and I was so happy for them and honored to be their officiant. After having gone through my own wedding I knew what stresses might incur on their big day and did everything in the best of my abilities to ensure their day was perfect for them! What occurred in this picture specifically was a result of Aja telling me that she made a new wedding band for Brian as it has an added “bling” to it that he won’t be expecting. Sure enough, when she whipped it out to put the new ring on his finger, this was his reaction. What a joy it was to be with these two on their big day! Learning of all the responsibilities of an Officiant came with experience as @vvtran91 and I had to go through the same process with ours back in June. My speech for these two were from the heart and I had to cut out so much so I could be more clear and concise. The end result, it was approved and I didn’t have to modify anything 🤙🏼 It’s been a little over a month now - and the trip to hawaii was nothing short of awesomeness! Dumbo Mumbo Jumbo! Wanted to show VV a picture-esque spot so one of the places I took her was Dumbo in Brooklyn! We went with her wonderful long time friend Tabi and had a great time crossing the Brooklyn Bridge! New Home Owners Journal #23: Patio Furniture! We wanted something temporary until we’re able to map out and design our full on back patio living space. When I say temporary, I mean approximately for the next year while we design this space out. We wanted something easy so we can relax out here and just lounge while @agent.fitzy runs around with our neighborhood pups (ahem Smokey, Dexter, and Fitzy’s bff Pepper @tammyi007 @dannyburkephoto) =) This is great for a little backyard BBQ session and some crawfish! =) I’ve come to find that as a homeowner you can really take things slow and not rush into buying that perfect thing. VV’s first time in New York! Had a little New York trip with the wifey. It was her first time in New York ever so we went and did our own little thing and just explored whatever, whenever =) Been all over the world with you and we just haven’t made our way to New York ever so here we are! Get ready for some New York posts haha =) We landed and we were craving Malaysian and looked up this highly rated restaurant, Nyonya. Service needed work but the food was still on point for the hungry hungry hippos =) 
This is what we ordered: 1. Homemade Roti Canai (Crispy style pancake served with curry dipping sauce) 2. Chinese Watercress w/preserved Bean Curd Sauce (Sautéed Chinese watercress with red and green peppers in preserved bean curd sauce) 3. Penang Asam Laksa (Spicy & sour thick rice noodles served in the Chef’s special lemongrass broth with fish flakes and vegetables) 4. Beef Rending (Tender pieces of beef simmered with spices (Cinnamon, cloves, and lemongrass in coconut milk) 5. Hainanese Chicken with Rice (Steamed chicken w/bones, cucumbers & Chef’s special soy sauce with chicken flavored rice ….all for 2. We finished it all. …Ok fine I finished it all.
