Magic Library (Todomomo)
Title: Magic Library
Pairing: Todoroki X Momo
Genre: Fluff
Word count: 956
Writer: Kpopmadness (Ju)
Momo Yaoyorozu sat in the library surrounded by books. No one was there since it was after school hours, making the library peaceful. Her long dark hair, which was usually up in a ponytail, was down. The soft locks flowing over her shoulders. She was consumed in her book when a soft voice came from behind her;
“Yaoyorozu?”
Momo whirled around to see a pair of brown and blue eyes starring at her. Shoto Todoroki stood with a pair of books of his own in his hands.
“Shoto.” Yaoyorozu says cheerfully, “Can I help you with something?”
She couldn’t help but notice that Todoroki seemed shy, even nervous. He was a quite boy, she knew that. But he usually wasn’t what Yaoyorozu would consider timid or nervous.
“Yes, I wondered if you could help me figure out something. May I sit with you?” Todoroki asks, breaking her from her thoughts as he gestures to the seat beside her.
Yaoyorozu nods and he takes the seat beside her.
“What are you reading?” He asks softly, taking the corner of her book trying to see the title.
“I was researching on the license exam coming up soon. I’ve always wondered if I would make it to this point, now I want to do my best to pass.” Yaoyorozu says matter of factly.
She was glad her voice sounded calm and even because inside it was a different story. Her and Todoroki weren’t close necessarily. They were partners in the same school, they both worked toward the same goal, to be a hero. But inside, no matter how much Yaoyorozu fought it, deep down she always wanted to get to know this quite boy better. Who in so many ways she felt was better than her.
“Yaoyorozu?” Came the soft voice again,
Yaoyorozu blushed when she realized she had been staring at him.
“Sorry.” She said quickly, turning her face away. “What do you have?” She asked. Trying to quickly change the subject.
Todoroki looked down at his stack of books, “Just textbooks,” he replied. “But that’s not what I’m here about. I wanted your help with something else.”
Grateful for the change in topic, Yaoyorozu nodded and said, “Of course. What is it?”
Todoroki looked down at his hands, trying to find words, “Yaoyorozu, what kind of hero do you want to be?”
This question took Yaoyorozu aback slightly. She was surprised Shoto was asking her something that was slightly personal.
Gathering her thoughts she replied gently, “I think like anyone else I want to be the best I can be. I know I’m not very good right now, but I strive to be someone others may look up to in time. And become better with my quirk.”
Todoroki nodded in agreement and seemed to take this in. Yaoyorozu sat quietly, wondering if she should ask him the same. She knew his past wasn’t the best and she didn’t want to push anything. But Todoroki seemed to read her mind and said,
“I agree with that. Being related to the second best hero puts pressure on me. I think 1-A knows how hard my dad pushes me to be the best. Being the best hero is a noble thought. I hope to be the best hero in my own way though. Not the way my father wants me to be the best.”
Yaoyorozu was a bit surprised. Todoroki never really opened up to people, the fact that he was opening up to her so randomly was intriguing.
“Shoto,” Yaoyorozu says gently, “Why are we talking about this?”
Todoroki takes a deep breath and seems to think hard about the question. It feels like forever before he finally replied,
“Have you ever considered us being a couple, Momo?” Todoroki asks. His eyes meeting hers.
Yaoyorozu’s eyes widen in shock. Yes, she had thought about it but she had tried not to dwell on it.
Dumbstruck, she stuttered, “I...I... I mean...”
Todoroki’s eyebrows draw together in concern, “I’m sorry, was that to bold?”
“No, no. That’s not it, it’s just... a shock is all.” Yaoyorozu takes a deep breath and gathers her thoughts. Her heart ramming into her chest, trying to keep her voice steady she says meeting his eyes,
“To be honest, yes. I have considered it. We would be a compatible couple I believe. The way we work together during battle and strategize shows that much. Are you saying you want us to be more than friends, Shoto?”
Shoto stares at her for a moment, then says,
“The reason I asked if you wanted to be a good hero is because I wanted to hear what your goals are. If they match mine. And they do. And I think we could make each other better hero’s than we could be alone. But to answer your question, yes. I would like us to be more than friends or classmates.”
Yaoyorozu has to contain herself from squealing in excitement and keep her heart from jumping out of her chest.
Her excitement bubbles over though and she leaps from her chair and throws her arms around Todoroki’s neck. He’s taken aback momentarily, but soon his arms wrap around her waist and he hugs her back.
Yaoyorozu smiles to herself, maybe she would get to know this quite boy more after all. She didn’t see a reason why this wouldn’t work out. Yaoyorozu pulls away and sits down in her seat blushing. But Todoroki takes her hands in his and says,
“Can I tell you something Momo?”
“Of course.” She says, smiling at him.
Shoto leans forward and kisses her cheek as he says gently, “You should leave your hair down more often. I like it like that.”
Hospital Halls (Todomomo)
Title: Hospital Halls
Pairing: Todoroki X Momo
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 1863
Writer: Kpopmadness (Ju)
The clock in the hospital waiting room read 11:45 P.M; there was no one in the waiting room besides Shoto Todorki. Every now and again a nurse or two would filter through to grab something from the desk nearby or to check on him but other than that he was by himself.
Todoroki wrung his hands nervously, he never liked hospitals. He remembered coming here when he was little. When his mother poured boiling water over his face, leaving the red scar over his left eye. He rubbed it with two of his fingers, wincing like it had just happened. He remembered his dad dragging him to this hospital, he remembered his own voice as he cried and screamed for his mother. She was put in a hospital after his father, Endevor, deemed her insane. Todoroki never fully believed she did that to him, and he never held her accountable for her actions. He fully blamed his father for it all.
Todorki tightened his hands into fists and rubbed his eyes until he saw white blotches over his vision, willing the images away from his mind. Now wasn’t the time to dwell on his past. He was here for another reason, a far more important reason than his past.
“Mr. Todoroki?” A soft voice said from beside him.
Todoroki looked up at the nurse, she was young, her brown hair pulled into a tight bun at the back of her head, her green eyes were wide but held a bit of sparkle to them. She held a clipboard to her chest, her white and red hospital uniform clean and crisp.
“Yes?” He answered. He tried to keep his composure and not bother her with a million questions. The doctors and nurses had informed him as often as they could for the past hour. But not much had changed.
“She’s awake now,” the nurse said sweetly, “You can go in and see her now. But try not to keep her up long. She needs rest still and has to stay here for a few nights so we can check on her.”
Todoroki sighed in relief, the tightness he had been feeling in his chest releasing ever so slightly,
“Thank you.” He told the nurse. She gave him a smile and then left the room.
Todorki sat there for a few more minutes gathering his composure, he gathered the flowers that he had set on the coffee table and stood up. They were Momo Yaoyorozu’s favorite flowers. A mixture of red roses with yellow sunflowers and baby's breath wrapped tightly in a bouquet with a pink ribbon tied neatly around the stems.
He walked to the door and checked the hallways, no one was there. The halls lights were turned low for patients to sleep better, and the only sign of life was the occasional nurse or doctor walking down the halls. Todorki straightened and walked to Momo’s room, the door number read Number 12. He took one more deep breath and then knocked softly. He held his breath, not hearing anything right away. Maybe she was already asleep and he should come back later. Then he heard a soft,
“Come in,”
Todorki opened the door slowly. Momo laid in her bed, several IVs snaked from her arms to an IV bag filled with liquid above her, a white bandage covered her head. She wore a white hospital gown that fit loosely on her toned body. Her long black hair was down, cascading over her shoulders in soft waves.
Momo smiled at Todoroki but her voice showed concern, “Todoroki. What are you doing here? It’s late, you should be home resting.”
Todoroki gave her a small smile as he shut the door behind him. He admired Momo’s love and care for others. Especially the care and worry she showed for him so unconditionally.
“I know,” he said quietly, “but I couldn’t leave without seeing my Momo.”
He looked down at the bouquet in his hands nervously and added, “I brought these for you.”
He gave them to her and his heart warmed as he saw her smile widen as she observed the flowers closer,
“Oh Todoroki,” she gasped, “They’re so beautifully!”
“You like them then?” He inquired. He didn’t realize how nervous he was about giving them to her until now.
Yaoyorozu set the flowers down on the nightstand beside her, then taking Todorki’s hands in hers she pulled him closer to her and brought his head down to hers, letting his forehead rest on hers and she whispered,
“I love them.”
A small smile fluttered across Todorki’s lips. He took her chin gently in his hand and tipped her head up slightly, he brought his lips down to claim hers.
They sat there quietly for a moment, silence filling the room except the sound of their breathing.
After being in the training camp and getting attacked, Yaoyorozu’s and another classmate had been chased by a Nomu type creature and she hit her head. Hard. Giving her a cut on her forehead and a concussion knocking her out cold for awhile. Thankfully, the fellow classmate had picked her up and carried her the rest of the way. Saving her life. For that Todorki was thankful.
He had beat himself up every hour after he found out she was hurt. They had only been dating for three months, and though none of the other class knew of their relationship, they had grown quite close over these months. Todorki never thought he would need someone as much as he needed Momo.
Todoroki stood there standing over Momo for a few more minutes, letting his lips part with hers, letting her warmth fill him. He pulled away, staring into her eyes. His face changed though when he saw blood coming from her bandage.
“Are you okay?” He asked sitting down next to her, stroking her bandage gently and then letting his fingers wander to her soft hair and curling a piece around his finger.
“I’m okay, Shoto. Really.” Momo rubbed the scar on his eye gently and asked, “Are you okay? And are the others alright? I never heard how everyone else was.”
Todoroki took her hand in his and pressed his lips to her palm, “I’m better now knowing your okay. And the others are fine. Midorya took a big hit, but he should be okay. Other than that the damage wasn’t too bad.” He pauses briefly and then added with a lump in his throat,
“I was worried about you Momo. And I… I’m so sorry. I should have been there. I should have found you sooner. If I was there you wouldn’t have gotten hurt.” He said solemnly; regret swelling in his chest. There was one thing he knew for sure with Momo, and that was that he couldn’t live without her. And he would spend his entire life protecting her.
Momo took his face in hers and said firmly, “Don’t do this to yourself Shoto. You were saving the others. And I’m okay, I promise. I’ll be back in school in a few days.”
She brushed her lips against his for a moment and rested her head on his, her tone gentle as she gushed, “You are such an amazing hero, Todoroki. I’m so proud of you for everything you accomplish everyday. How you used your quirk at the camp, how you grew stronger with it. You’re amazing Shoto. You can’t be everywhere at once. And I don’t expect you to be. Please, don’t beat yourself up anymore. Okay?”
Todoroki looked at her for a moment, his heart swelling with something else now, something warm and inviting. Love.
He ran his fingers gently through her soft hair. As he leaned in to kiss her again he whispered, “I love you, Momo. And you’re the amazing one.”
He saw her smile as she whispered against his mouth, “I love you too, Shoto.”
And then she let him claim her mouth with his. She let his mouth lock with hers, then he gentled their kiss and gently kiss her cheeks and nose and forehead. She let one of her hands rest on his toned bicep, and the other on his chest. She held on to a fistful of his shirt as he kissed her.
“Shoto?” Momo said faintly after a few moments.
“Yes?” Todorki answered. His voice sounded distant too.
“Will you stay with me tonight?” She felt him pull away slightly so she added quickly, “If you don’t want to I understand, this bed isn’t exactly comfortable.”
Todorki thought about it for a moment. He didn’t want anyone to see them together, he didn’t want the class to find out just yet. But he couldn’t leave her.
“I’ll stay with you my Momo.” He complied, squeezing his hand in hers.
Yaoyorozu beamed up at him and scooted over as she informed, “There’s a pair of slippers under the bed you can wear if you want to take your shoes off but need to get up in the middle of the night. And there should be an extra toothbrush that’s not used if you want to use that.”
Todoroki chuckled as he took his Sneakers off and climbed into bed next to her, “If I didn’t know better I would say you’ve been planning this, Momo.” He said teasingly.
Momo blushed as she settled in beside him and admitted, “I want something like this one day. Only in our own bed and not in a hospital.”
Todoroki wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close to his chest, “I want that too my love.” He whispered into her ear. Feeling himself blush as he said those words.
Momo looked into his eyes for a moment. Loving the way those two different color eyes held so much meaning and love for her behind them. She kissed his cheek and wrapped her arms around his waist, holding him close.
“Goodnight Shoto.” She said through a yawn.
“Goodnight my Momo.” He murmured sleepily against her hair.
………
“Momo. Momo?” A soft voice said in Yaoyorozu’s ear.
She opened her eyes to bright morning rays of sunlight shining through the hospital blinds. Todoroki stood over her, the memory of him sleeping beside her coming back to her now.
“What’s wrong?” She asked, seeing the look in his eyes.
“I just got a text from Iida. Him and some other classmates are coming to check on you and Midorya and asked if I wanted to meet up with them to come visit. I have to go. But I promise to be back as soon as I can. Will you be okay?” He asked, gently stroking her bandage.
Momo nodded and said gently, “I’ll be fine Shoto. Go.”
Todorki took her face in his hands and pressed his mouth to hers. Wishing desperately he could just stay with her. He forced himself to pull away and gave her a small smile. Then he was out the door and gbone.
Yaoyorozu opened her mouth to call him back but he was already gone. A giggle bubbled out of her mouth. He forgot to take off his slippers.
Title: Piano Tiles
Paring: Jirou x Bakugou
Genre: Fluff
Word count: 1520
Writer: Kpopmadness (Ju)
Monday morning at U.A Highschool started off the same as always.
Kyoka Jiro walked through the long halls with her backpack slung over her shoulder, her hands stuffed into her pockets. Her thoughts swirled with the information she was trying to remember for that days exam.
As she continued her walk down the hall toward the classroom, the sound of music caught her attention.
It was a soft, almost romantic tune that floated its way down the halls.
She stopped, listening to the tune for a moment. She soon realized the tune and the instrument, but what was curious was who was playing it. True, it had its flaws, but it was beautiful.
She let her feet take her down the hall a bit further, searching for the source of the music. She slowly opened the door where she could tell the music was coming from and had to stifle a gasp.
A muscular frame slouched in front of the black piano in the center of the room, his back facing Jiro. His rough hands gentle on the shiny white and black tiles; his left food tapped the floor to the slow rhythm of the music being played. What threw Jiro off even more, however, was that when his head turned slightly to follow the rhythm of his fingers, he was smiling. It was a soft, sideways grin. His fire red eyes seemed tranquil and somehow dangerously beautiful.
Suddenly the tune changed, it became faster, more finely tuned. His hands flew across the tiles in timed, strategic moves.
“Bakugo?” Jiro blurted out, her voice showing her shock.
Katsuki Bakugo jumped up and as he did his fingers came down a little too hard on the tiles, making them sound harsh and jumbled.
“Don’t ever sneak up on me like long ears!” Bakugo yelled at her. His posture was tense now, any signs of gentleness Jiro had seen a moment ago was gone.
“Sorry,” Jiro replied cooly, not leaving her position in the door way. “I heard music and wanted to see who was playing. I didn’t know you could play.”
Bakugo snorted, “That’s none of your business. Besides, I’m not in U.A to be a stupid musician.”
Bakugo gathered his backpack and slung it over his shoulder and shoved his hands in his pockets. He gave Jiro a hard glare and she took a step to the side to let him through the door. However, right before he was past the doorway she called,
“Death Waltz.”
Bakugo froze at her words but kept his back to her. But she knew she had his attention.
“It’s known as one of the hardest Piano songs to play. Nearly impossible because it’s so fast. I’ve always wanted to learn it.”
The words that came out of Jiro’s mouth next surprised even her,
“Teach me to play it. Please?”
Bakugo let out a snort and then a chuckle. He slowly turned back around to face her as he said in disbelief, “You? You want me to teach you how to play the Death Waltz? You just said yourself it’s impossible to learn.”
Jiro lifted her chin up, determination taking over. “I’ve learned to play Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple. That’s considered a hard song to even attempt to learn on guitar. And I learned it. Are you going to teach me to play? Or are you maybe just not as amazing as you say you are?”
Bakugo’s red eyes narrowed at Jiro before snarling, “Two weeks. You have to weeks to learn it. You meet me here everyday at 8:00 P.M to practice. And you better catch on, I don’t like repeating myself.”
With that, he stormed out the door and closed it behind him. Leaving Jiro with a smirk on her face.
..............
2 Weeks Later
“Again.” Bakugo repeated for what felt like the millionth time to Jiro’s frustrated nerves.
Jiro let out a frustrated growl and snapped, “I’ve even repeating the same move over and over and over for these two weeks now Bakugo! We aren’t even half way through the song.”
“I told you long ears,” Bakugo said somewhat cooly as he sat beside her on the bench by the piano, “This is a hard song. You either have it, or you don’t. It took me three years to master this song alone.”
Jiro let out a sigh and stated, “And your only giving me these two weeks to learn it? My two weeks to learn are over tomorrow.”
Bakugo shrugged his shoulders and let his fingers rest on the tiles as he began to play a soft melody. Jiro thought about all she had learned and rubbed her aching fingers. Her mind swirled with the pace of the song and the various notes that went with it.
She watched Bakugo play for a moment before letting herself say, “How did you learn to play?”
Bakugo was silent for a moment before answering modestly, “I taught myself. I couldn’t afford to have anyone teach me.”
Jiro nodded. She understood how to felt to come from a small family with little money. She paid for all her instruments with her hard earned cash. She would take odd jobs and often work nights just to get half of what she wanted.
“I was self taught too.” She said.
“Is that why you sound so bad?” Bakugo jabbed.
Jiro looked at him, her mind trying to find a comeback, when she realized the corner of his lip was turned up. He was playing with her.
Jiro rolled her eyes and turned her attention back to the piano. Bakugo let his fingers slide off the tiles as he repeated his famous word,
“Again.”
Jiro took a deep breath, and let her fingers come down on the tiles. Her eyes darted across the sheet music in front of her, her fingers trying desperately to keep up with her brain.
She she felt something warm press against her back. Bakugo has stood up and was now standing behind her, “Gentle your touch.” He whispered in her ear.
Her earphones twitched at his rough voice and the feel of his warm muscular body pressing against hers. She lost her focus and her fingers slipped, making the song jumbled.
“Try again,” Bakugo said. His voice deep but surprisingly gentle. These past two weeks of teaching her, Bakugo has been known to fly off the handle of Jiro messed up, making her tense. More than once she had wanted to back out of the lessons, but her pride and determination got in the way.
Jiro let out a sigh, trying to reign in her emotions. She started to play again, from the top. She continued and let the melody flow smoothly. Her mind raced with the notes she was trying to play, and slowly the puzzle came into place. The notes began to make sense and her fingers naturally went to the tile she desired.
Then, it was finished. Her eyes widened. She had done it! She had played the entire song without messing it up.
Jiro whirled around in her chair and looks and Bakugo, a smile broadening across her face.
“That wasn’t too bad, long ears.” Bakugo remarked, calling her by his annoying little nickname for her.
Jiro didn’t care, and what happened next she didn’t know why she did it. She got up quickly from the bench and rushed over to where Bakugo was standing and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, wrapping him in a tight hug.
She felt Bakugo freeze under her touch, but soon he relaxed and let his hands rest on her hips.
“Thank you,” she breathed into his leather jacket. Gratitude filled her heart.
Bakugo didn’t say anything, only stood there while she hugged him. Coming to her senses, Jiro quickly pulled away, a blush going across her cheeks.
“Sorry.” She said, embarrassed by her actions.
Then, suddenly, Bakugo had crossed the distance between them and let his lips land on hers. It was Jiro’s turn to freeze up. The feel of his lips surprised her. But slowly, Jiro felt herself give in. Bakugo’s hands slid around her waist and her hands rested on his biceps. For two weeks Jiro had noticed the looks Bakugo had been giving her. The long stares, the accidental touches, her blushing at how close they sat together during the lessons sometimes.
It made more sense now, and somehow, felt right.
Jiro felt Bakugo start to pull away but at the same time felt him bite her lower lip as he did. Their foreheads rested against each other, both processing what had just happened between them.
“You still sound bad long ears,” Bakugo whispered against her cheek, “Maybe I should keep teaching you for another few weeks.”
Jiro smirked as she took his face in her hands and retorted, “Or maybe you should learn to play better so I don’t sound so bad.”
“Shut up,” Bakugo growled at her, but this time Jiro could tell he was playing with her again. And this time, she closed the gap between them.
