Kun olin pieni

Tiesin jo,

Ettei tähteä saa koskettaa.

Se on valtavan suuri,

Niin mahtava, kirkas,

Ja olisi ennemmin kuollut,

Kuin sitä ois halannut.

Tähdet on näkyjä

Eikä niitä voi saavuttaa.

Olen ikinä ollut peloissain.

Tähdethän peloittaa.

Niillä voi palaa

Vain hetkessä

Eikä käsitä sitä.

Mitenhän uskoo sellaisen voiman

Pystyvän rakastaa lempeästi

Ja paistaa hellästi

Sen valoin ylittävin

Sisältäpäin viriävin.

Mistähän tietää

Että se ei ole ydinvoima?

Mistähän tietää

Että on vielä elossa?

Mutta uskalsin kerran

Kosketin tähteä.

Minä jäljetin poskensa

Ja aistin sormillain kuumia kyyneleitä,

Ne oli isot, kuin tähtikin on,

Kuin valtameren pisarat,

Valtameren, joka kiehuu,

Paloin kun aistin ne.

Oisin varmasti tuhkana nyt,

Mutta palo on hellä,

Ja sen lämpö niin hyvä,

Etten jaksa palata avaruuteen.

En voi jättää tähteä enää.

Niin pelokkaana. Niin pienenä.

En mä voi

Koska tähdet

Voi, nuo tähdet,

Ne palaa kirkkaasti,

Ne palaa kuumasti,

Ei ne voi,

Astua taa,

Pois kääntyä,

Poistua lahdelle.

Voi palaa tuhkaksi säteissä

Mutta pelkoa ilman.

So, I wrote a blank verse the other day and just want to leave it there. Adore dog metaphors, as corny as that.

POEM TO STRAY DOGS

I feel like a stray dog

From time to time

Led to different directions.

I have no will of my own.

My legs tumble,

I fumble.

I wish I could love

Everyone.

Though there's always pain

I'm inflicting

By warming someone else

With my thin, sick belly.

Why can I not

Warm the whole world?

Why is there always someone

Who feels cold?

I'm letting my teeth

Close on my fur.

I'm pulling on it

Until my nerves ignite.

You all cry,

I can only tremble

And fumble.

How do I warm everyone?

I try to tear my skin apart.

Crimson blood

Will create hot pools,

And my muscles

Will protect your bodies,

Still slightly pulsing

And oozing with ichor.

I'll chew on my bones

So that they're not

Edgy anymore,

All soft and sugary,

Like treats on Halloween night.

I feel like I have

No guts anymore,

Because they were

In the way

Of me fitting the world

In my body.

Now that I lay on the

Red sand,

Tongue out,

Out of breath,

Blood on the canins,

Torn paws,

Claws shattered,

I feel lighter.

I loved so many and ran away

So many times.

Stray dog has no owners,

Only its tail,

That it will tear out

With a desire of its own.
