i think i just spent the afternoon doing a sort of bingo-slash-stickers-album for carla's generation goals... well, there are worse ways to spend one's time, i guess ;)

what do you think of this? feels sim-intuitive to you?

JANET HARPER has a lot on her mind... we received a 1,018$ bill and the bank account has some miserable 162$. we're fine!!

once upon a time, there were three women: janet, theresa and carla harper. that’s us. i’m carla, the redhead with the yellow shirt and also the baby sis, like theresa loves to remind me every five minutes. we don’t have a lot of money. mom blames those “real estate opportunities” in chestnut ridge pushed by landgraab industries, but honestly… granny gambling half her savings at mr. alto’s casino in del sol probably didn’t help either. our ranch is old. super old. mom fights dust bunnies like it is her full‑time job and complains about them never disappearing. probably doesn't help that theresa feeds and befriends them like pets. the bills are always scary. mom says “okay girls, we got this.” and somehow, we always do. our dreams are huge! bigger than our house, bigger than chestnut ridge, bigger than the landgraabs and the altos combined. theresa is the explorer. she wants to travel the world, but since we can’t afford holidays, she explores every corner of chestnut ridge instead. i follow her around to make sure she doesn’t break anything else and add to the bills. mom works as a barista downtown, but secretly she wants to be a romance‑novel authoress. she uses her tips to buy me sci‑fi and fantasy books every now and then. she has the materialist trait, sure, but she always brings home little presents for all of us. and then there is me: carla harper. the introverted one. the little one. and probably the most responsible one, too. i take care of the animals, keep an eye on theresa, and hug mom when she gets melancholic. we aren’t fancy, but we are a team. and that’s how harper origins starts. a legacy… i guess.

so… remember the harpers? yeah, those pixel people who somehow survived fifteen generations without ever meeting the grim. turns out, i might’ve lost my spark and the 15th harper generation has officially given me a severe sims existential crisis. so i had this idea... back at square one! or, well, before square one. do you recall theresa harper, the original founder? probably not, but no worries. this time, i'm rewinding to her childhood in chestnut ridge ((because in my headcanon she grew up a full country girl before deciding the big city was calling her name). except… plot twist: theresa’s not the star. her sister carla is taking the spotlight, and their single mother too - a woman who finds comfort in spotless counters and dramatic romance paperbacks. welcome to harper origins. a legacy… i guess.
