💚 Akira no Fashion 💚

In that manga, I think Akira's style thoughtfully suits his personality. His clothes were well drawn by Obata-sensei. I love his sense of fashion!

A portrait of Akira when he was a young boy. He looks perfectly elegant as a Go prodigy. Little Touya must be wearing an expensive tailored suit! Its colour matches his shirt. I think his tie looks great too. And his determined eyes though. And oh.. his habit of playing with his cuff is adorable isn't it?!

This violet suit. I agree with the article above that this set seems to be silk/silk mix designer set. And violet and pink go well together. I think the choice of colour also reflects his personality. It looks good on him.

This shade of red looks good on him too!This is not just a buttoned plain red shirt. I love that lacing detail on it. It makes him look... interesting. Everything is perfect, the white trousers, leather shoes, and that cute little belt.

This story is somehow different from most HikaGo fics I've read. Yet very believable how Hikaru and Akira would develop their feelings for being so so close playing Go and doing things. It's pretty domestic, and I love these two being domestic together.

I have to admit that this is my most personal favourite. It's Akira's POV. The story was beautifully written. I wholeheartedly adore Akira in this fic. How Hikaru had come into his life and changed something inside him. I like how everything was connected so perfectly that led to Akira's realisation. So so beautiful.

I love how Akira is portrayed in this fic as so close to the official picture by Obata-sensei in 2008 (the one his hair is slightly long and he was wearing a brown coat and a turtleneck). In this fic, he's a cute little dork and a bit awkward which I can imagine him acting that way too. There are a few scenes that really cute and just made my heart warmth. There are also one-shot stories from the same author that I love. I'll talk about them in another post!

First of all, this is POV second person which is something I don't usually read. Plus, fan fictions with OCs in them aren't really my cup of tea. BUT, this fic is something else. I couldn't stop reading once I started it. The flashback sequences are insanely amazing, the tension built and everything! The OCs are there for a massive valid reason and I really need to find out more. These aged-up Hikaru and Akira here are matured and complicated. The author did a marvellous job here, I just wish she continues this work...

I'm usually not a big fan of AU, but this fic is so fascinating I want to talk about it. Hikaru and Akira are manga-ka. I just love the references in this fic. I believe people in the fandom may be able to relate to it. Their characteristics as mature young men are adorably charming.

Since Hikaru no Go the animation celebrated it's 20th anniversary in 2021, there have been several goods coming out from different vendors. Merchandise from newly drawn illustrations and all that including T-shirts and jumpers, acrylic standy, keyrings, gachapon and many many more.

Ichijouji Ken, Digimon 02

He is one of the DigiDestined and he looks rather cute just like that, maybe a bit shy and quiet too. However *spoiler alerts* this poor child was manipulated to be the Digimon Emperor due to his childhood sufferings (how sad!) But he got helped by his friends and we get too see the fragile sides of him. And I had a thing for a fragile boy.

He is my first childhood anime crush :3 I realized that after an episode where he was kidnapped or something. He was just a nice boy with something broken inside and needed help. Awwwww.

Well, I watched it like two decades ago so I don't really remember the story, but I guess I remember how I felt 😌

Nigihayami Kohakunushi, Spirited Away

He's a dragon and a river spirit in a form of a 12-year-old boy though we don't really know how old he actually is (I want to assume that he's about Chihiro's age). And he can make delicious onigiri, and do some magical spells.

While he acts coldly with his sharp gaze and gestures, but with Chihiro, he's so caring and protective. His gaze for her is tender and soft and kind. Awwwww. How sweet :3

With those characteristics, he's my second crush. I get emotional every single time I rewatch this movie. The ending though. *soundtrack begins*

Touya Akira, Hikaru no Go

Akira is such a precious babe (awwww). He's a Go prodigy and a little dork. He's such a well-mannered and proper boy from the Touya family.

His sharp glares that can also be soft, his style and outfits and the way he holds his cup of tea that's such an etiquette.

I also love his intensity and obsession towards Hikaru, a lot of strong emotions going on and it's just.... yes :3

It was a pleasure seeing him growing up in this coming-of-age manga/anime. I'm sooooo obsessed with Touya Akira. I can say he's my most favourite character of all time.

Yzak Joule, Gundam Seed/Gundam Seed Destiny

I first watched this anime because of Athrun, but I stead I spot this hotheaded young man and I like him instantly :3

He may act like an angry bad boy who burst to anger every now and then (I think someone should understand him and hug him already!), but he's loyal and fair and one of the best in combat. His personality is just something I always find interesting.

Ahhh I'll watch this anime again at some point. I miss this.

I embarrassingly admit that I was introduced to yaoi community through HikaAki fanfic and that was before I even read HikaGo manga. Anyway, that first fic I read Akira was an uke as well as fanart and doujinshi I later found. So it stuck with me that he was an uke. Then I kinda forgot about the whole HikaGo and shifted my interest to something else.

When I'm back to this fandom, I first craved for post-canon fanfic. I read heaps of them in English on ao3. And interestingly, these seme and uke characteristics weren't really mentioned at all. Instead, it's reversible. What I found endearing was they were written so true to characters regarding their personalities.

I've read those that portrayed Akira with sharp glares and cold and him being a dork etc, and some fic that portrayed his slightly feminine traits. I could be convinced as long as it's him and the whole things make sense.

I think they both have seme and uke traits in different situations. Their relationship is deep and dynamic, so I believe their roles can be reversible.

I can even imagine them play a game of Go and the winner may choose who will be a seme/uke after the game 👀 (perhaps, someone wrote this plot already?)

(Still, when I see a fanart that Akira is drawn very manly, it makes me cringe a little bit like I'm not used to seeing him that way 😳)

Recently, I've been feeding myself fan fiction and fanarts and everything HikaGo related and started hunting and buying HikaGo goods cause my childhood needs fulfillment.

So I guess this is my first post to this tumblr thing. I'm soooo happy this fandom is still/fairly active cause I've got nobody I know to share my obsession with 😳

Yep yep, I have a Goban and No, I don't know how to play it. Just having it next to HikaGo manga warms my heart for some reason.
