“You know the message you’re sending out to the world with these sweatpants? You’re telling the world, ‘I give up. I can’t compete in normal society. I’m miserable, so I might as well be comfortable.'”

“ —listen, i don’t gossip. do i maybe sometimes find out things? sure. or do i hear something and i pass that information on? of course. but i’m not spreading gossip, it’s kinda like public service that i’m doing because how else would someone know their girlfriend is cheating on them with a guy from mcdonalds?”

          “That sounds super tragic, but I wouldn’t get involved in someone else’s relationship. Maybe she knew that he was cheating on her. Maybe it’s more of an open relationship kind of thing.” He shrugged at the blonde. “I think it sounds like the worst of everyone’s problems. Do you know either of them well?” 

          Spring break was almost over and Akio wasn’t looking forward to going back to school. His parents were on his tale all of spring break not to act like an idiot and do his work. While he did manage to have a little fun, it wasn’t as much as he hoped. Akio spent much of his break in the library or with Casey. He made his way over to Casey’s to hang out. He let himself in when he got there. “Hey, cutie. Do you have a boyfriend, or can I sweep you off your feet?” he asked, grinning at his boyfriend.

Wilder grinned back at his friend. “Awesome; do you wanna head over there after we’re done here? I can stop by the liquor store next door before we go, but I just have to pick up a couple more things first.” the male informed the other. His eyes surveyed the ingredients in the shopping cart before his head cocked to the side. “What’re you making, anyways?”

          A chill session would be nice. Especially since he hadn’t gotten on in what felt like forever, even if it was only a week. “Yeah, that sounds like a plan. I don’t have much else to buy,” he looked down at the stuff in his cart. “Yes to the liquor store. And I assume you’re driving since I don’t have a car? Or we’re taking the bus.” He grinned up at his friends. “Ah, the delicacy that is stuffed burgers and fries. But I also got stuff for onion rings.” 

( ! — *✧ : A huff and a sigh come out of Kat’s lips, arms cross over as she looks up at the rather rude intruder. ❝ I’m looking over the work we’ll be doing when we go back, It’s always good to be prepared. Puts me ahead of the game. ❞

          He really tried to talk to everyone, not just people from Southbank. Akio was a social butterfly and ever since he’d stopped caring about school, he needed people more than he used to. “Forgive me for the intrusion, but you really want to be that far ahead of everyone? You don’t seem like the type that needs to study.” 

“jesus,” ricky scoffed. “quite the array of achievements there. congrats.” his response was sprinkled with the slightest hint of sarcasm. it felt to him like akio was showing off, and he didn’t like showing off, despite the fact he was often the biggest culprit for it. “i guess it doesn’t really matter what the occasion is, i’m always down to party.” he shrugged. “time spent with your boyfriend is uneventful unless you’re bumping uglies? to each their own, i guess.”

          “Which one is actually an achievement though? The fact that someone managed to tame me or the Yale thing.” The cooking scholarship was the one guarantee he felt. Normally, not one to feel like he had much to brag about, Akio was just in a good mood. He could hear the tone in Ricky’s voice, but chose to ignore it. “That’s my mood lately. Party and forget everything, ya know?” He looked at the other boy. “It was a joke. We’ve just been hanging out. Kinda uneventful. What we did before we were official.” 

( ! — *✧ : ❝ What? are you fucking blind or something? can’t you see I’m trying to work here? ❞ Kat snapped, not even looking up when she heard another occupy the seat opposite her. ❝ Well? If you’ve got something to say, make it quick. ❞

          “Is this seat taken?” Akio asked, sitting down anyway with out an invitation. He’d been curious as to what she was working on and usually wouldn’t bother someone working. Except, he didn’t care anymore. The school year was almost up. “What are you working on? It’s spring break.” 

“The audacity, you’re making it sound as if I’ve got a huge ego, but thank you for calling me amazing babe. “ Casey giggled unable to keep himself detached from the other. “You’re excited about the great view of me you’re going to get in the mornings and of how I’m going to be the most supportive and sexy boyfriend ever. I’m really happy for you, Akio.” The boy beamed seeing just how eager his boyfriend was to begin his journey. “Totally justified,” he managed before laughing in response. “Trust me, I couldn’t find a single thing not to like, because you’re just oh so great. There I go again giving you a big head, not that you’re not used to me giving you head.” He giggled liking the way they were just so casual and comfortable with each other. “Hmm, cute? I don’t know about that, but you’re definitely sexy. Got a great sense of style and got that fuck me senseless hair, and that dopey smile. We have a bright future,” he agreed, loving the idea of them in the future together. “You mean how you managed to get me? Don’t know either, but I’m just glad I caught your attention, because if not I would’ve just had a crush on you from afar.” Casey admitted as he blushed at the small kiss. “Good, and you can definitely pull it off.” he said before laughing at the other’s comment. “God, you’re terrible, but I like it.” he said coming closer to press his lips onto the other’s. “I love being your dessert, because you can never get enough of this one,” he winked. “Gosh, I really-really like you Akio, it’s almost insane how much I like you.” he blushed. “Oh come on that’s no fair, I’d reward you with kisses if you do study.” he grinned, before giggling shaking his head at his boyfriend. “You are one of a kind, but I’m totally yours.”

“Fair enough. I’ll be there. Are they kids or are they just terrible at holding their liquor? Cause mine is the latter.”

          “Children,” he replied with a smile. “One is in elementary school, the other is in middle school. The older one acts like she’s old enough for high school sometimes.” 

“Oh, I’ll definitely take you up on that, but I’ll add a little something extra,” he hummed, lowering his voice a bit. “If you wanna do a little shindig at my place, we could smoke before we eat. I’m sure your cooking is bomb already, but that would just take it to the max in my opinion,” Wilder offered, a smile on his lips as he hoped the other would take him up on his offer. “Get some drinks too, maybe?”

          Akio listened to Wilder with a giant grin on his face the entire time. He thought that sounded like a wonderful way to spend a spring break afternoon. Other than how he’d been spending it of course. “Yeah, bro. That sounds great. I need something to do that’s chill.” His parents had been on him all spring break. It would be nice to get away from them for even a little bit. “Drinks also sound good.” 

“ oh jeez, i’m sorry, akio ” anne started, face falling just a little. “ i’ve still got one more night of baby duty. but let me know when you’re doing another one, my mom has the best potato bake recipe. ”

“Seriously? I’d love to, that sounds awesome. Not that I don’t love parties but it’s nice to do something a little more, what’s the word- like, chill, sometimes. What time should I be there? Is there a dress code or anything? Can I bring something or help out somehow?”

          “Right! A good party can always be fun. Sometimes you’ve just got to chill it off and class it up a bit. Or like, give it a theme and call it a day. I can’t wait to cater parties that are murder mystery themed.” He was way too excited for that. “Nah, no dress code. Dinner at 6:30. I’ve got it all covered.” 

ricky cocked a suspicious eyebrow. “what’s the occasion?” he was surprised by the invite, but even more so by the fact that he’d found himself actually considering it. he was free and opportunities for ricky to actually have some fun over spring break were few and far between. “is your spring break really as uneventful as mine?” he asked, glancing towards his own shopping basket which was hooked on his arm and contained very little other than four-packs of beer.

          “Take your pick,” he replied. “The official ‘I didn’t get into Yale’ party. The I have a significant other party. The culinary school I like called me and offered me a great scholarship. Take your pick on the occasion.” Akio looked at Ricky, shrugging at his second question. He hadn’t had a bad spring break. Normal for him at least. His parents complaining about something, forcing him to study, and sneaking away to do fun stuff. “I’ve been spending most of it with Casey, so kinda uneventful, but also not since... well there’s usually a lot of sex involved.” 

“What’s the catch?”

          “Bring your own booze. And don’t let my sisters near it.” 

“As much fun as that sounds going to have to deny that offer, daddies got important business men coming to dinner and making his “Prestigious “ Daughter sit and join” she rolled her eyes

          “That sucks. I’m probably a better cook than whatever you’re going to eat. Not to brag or anything. That sounded like I was bragging.” He laughed and looked at the cart. “Well, if you get done early and want to stop by, I literally wouldn’t mind.”
