Kingsley is the son of two influential pureblood wizards, former activist/freedom fighter, Darius Myles, and Ahyoka Nelowie  - a published poet of Cherokee descent.

He was born in California but moved to London with his mother following his father’s murder, he was six years-old. Darius was killed in Azkaban not only for his outspoken views against racial injustice/segregation, but for his stance against prejudice within the wizarding community.  He simply refused to believe that anyone should be judged by the color of their skin or by the amount of magic in their blood. He was falsely accused of attacking a judge who was handling a high profile case at the time. This proved to only be a ploy to have him imprisoned and murdered.

Following this news, close family friends assisted in relocating he and his mother to England out of fear for their lives. London is where they’d establish new lives for themselves. His mother taught literature, wrote renowned poetry, and led wilderness trips. Kingsley focused on school, graduated Hogwarts at the top of his class, and quickly became an Auror.

Much like his father, Kingsley won’t stand for injustice. As a boy (and even now as a man), this gets him into a good amount of trouble. Wether it was standing up to the school bully, leading a protest, or voicing his opinion when it’s not warranted, Kings frequently finds himself in contention with someone. He’s not the first to be invited to the party because of this personality trait, but his desire isn’t to be well liked, it’s too seek truth and live in it.  

Like his mother, Kingsley is an ‘out-of-the-box’ thinker. ‘Strange’ is a word used commonly to describe him. If it weren’t for being damn good with a wand in his hand, and his desire to ‘right wrongs’, he would probably be living in a forest somewhere, spending his days playing the flute and writing obscure fiction.

Auror is the job that chose him, and one he believes his father would be proud of him for doing. He’s isn’t one to follow the rules, preferring to walk to the beat of his own drum. This isn’t ideal when it comes to his profession, and tends to put the Ministry in some difficult financial situations - as well as staining their public image. Despite these concerns they choose to keep him around because, regardless of how messy the outcome is, he always gets the job done.
