* Buy a good, strong,Ā āwomenās healthā probiotic or lots of plain, unsweetened kefir.Ā Kefir is heavily cultured and contains lots of calcium, vitamin D, Omegas 3 & 6 and essential minerals generally important for womenās health.Ā You should drink at least two cups a day, preferably once in the early morning about 30 minutes before breakfast and another cup later in the day (also preferably on an empty stomach). Make sure the bottle says ālive & active culturesā and contains both L. rhamnosus GR-1Ā® and L. reuteri RC-14® (Trader Joeās plain kefir contains both strains)
* A Sitz Bath is a relaxing, effective and very enjoyable treatment that yields quick relief. Steep a tablespoon of B.V. Battalion in two cups of water and let steep 10-15 minutes and become dark and rich gold.Ā Pour the potent herbal blend into the hot-warm water in a regular washtub ($2-$3) and soak your butt in it for 25-30 minutes. Gently clean out discharge with clean fingers allowing for some of the tea to enter.Ā This blend disinfects and soothes the irritated vagina.
* Cider sitz bath Simply dilute a ½ cup organic apple cider vinegar (with the mother culture) in 2-3 liters of hot-warm water in a regular washtub ($2-$3) and soak your butt in it for 25-30 minutes, as needed.Ā The cider vinegar works to balance the pH of the vagina and kill bacteria on contact.Ā Clean any discharge with clean fingers, allowing some of the cider vinegar solution to enter the vagina and just sitz there, occupy yourself with an episode of your netflix series. This might make your anus a but chapped so donāt overuse this!
* Tea tree oil sitz bath. Few drops of organic tea tree essential oil in hot-warm tub water. Soak vagina for 25-30 minutes. Again, donāt overuse.
* Folic acidĀ Folate-rich foods include lentils, dark green vegetables (broccoli, spinach, collard or turnip greens, okra, and asparagus) and citrus fruit. Mushroom-cultured milk/kefir is an excellent source of folate, probiotics, and vital nutrition for improved immunity. You can buy the mushroom online and literally have fresh, organic kefir every 24 hours by soaking it in fresh whole milk, and even unsweetened soy and coconut milk!
* Abstain from intercourse. It irritates the vulva greatly, messes up the pH and can spread dangerous pathogens deeper into your reproductive system and cause serious damage. It can also cause re-infestation, PID or infertility. No sex until all symptoms are gone for at least one week. Donāt use coconut oil as lube, as itās a powerful anti-microbial.Ā Use Good Clean Love instead.
* Donāt stress to stay well! Stress weakens the immune system! Drink Echinacea or take Reishi mushroom for immunity support, since stress is usually a tough habit to break. Herbs that help balance A-type neurosis and general anxiety include Hops, Valerian, Lemon balm (Melissa), Lavender, Chamomile, Kratom, and Angelica. You can try our blends of organic, non-irradiated teas and have a calm walk in the park once a day to smell the flowers and admire the trees.Ā Nervosol-K is an excellent tincture blend for full muscle and mind relaxation. Make sure to get enough sleep each night.
* Wear panty-liners everyday if you have thin wet discharge, or just in general to keep your crotch dry! A warm, wet environment is where bacteria and yeast thrive. Panty-liners absorb discharge and moisture and keep the vagina clean, dry and sanitary.
* Reculture with friendly flora Okay! So youāve already got this one since you know probiotics are the most important pillar to treating B.V. Use and overuse of potent anti-septic sitz baths can kill off good flora, so be sure to eat a good probiotic twice daily in the form of kefir, kombu, sauerkraut, probiotic supplements, miso, or mushroom-cultured milk. Itās important to also be directly applying probiotics to both the inside and outside of the vagina regularly.Ā The sitz bath will have cleared space on your tissue where bacteria had once seized so the new probiotics will have ample space to adhere to. The best and most effective way to do this is to apply plain kefir with live & active L. rhamnosus and L. reuteri cultures 2-3 times daily. Inserting a probiotic capsule into the vagina once or every other day works well too.
* Nip candida in the bud If you have recurrent infections, you probably already know how the vicious cycle goes; You get BV, take antibiotics, kill too much friendly flora, get a yeast infection, then have to battle a yeast infection only to further disturb beneficial microorganisms and end up with BV again. If you feel yeast infection symptoms (like thick cottage-cheese discharge, itchiness, and colonies of creamy fungus inside and out the vagina) arise after a week or so of treatment, simply take a clove of organic, non-irradiated garlic, scar it up with your fingernails all over and insert it into the vagina before bed.Ā Remove it in the morning.Ā Repeat the next night, and then continue as needed. (caution: may irritate some women) Of course, be sure to reculture with a good probiotic every day. Herbs like Uva Ursi, Ginger, Licorice root, Black walnut, and cayenne pepper are remarkably effective at cleansing candida. (Get these fantastic five here) Make 2 liters of this powerful, yet tangy with a spice, decoction and drink it throughout the day.Ā Itās important avoid sugar and starchy foods. Following a candida elimination diet helps to starve off the parasitic yeast while the powerful herbs purge it out.
* AVOID SUGAR Okay, this one is super important!Ā Both yeast and bacteria thrive off sugar. Avoid all processed foods, white sugar and starchy foods (including starchy vegetables like potatoes and peas). Avoid gluten, use gluten-free oatmeal, buckwheat kasha and sprouted grain bread instead of flour-based bread as itās high in protein and low in carbs. Limit fruit intake to one sour fruit (kiwi, lemon, granny smith apple, frozen blueberries are ok too) daily.Ā Eating lots of leafy-green smoothies with green apple and lemon everyday helps provide vital nutrients to rebuild damaged tissue and enhance immune function. Avoid sugar until all symptoms clear for at least a week. Make permanent lifestyle changes to consume more home-cooked vegetables, raw-green smoothies, probiotic and prebiotic foods and utilize maple syrup, black strap molasses, honey, or stevia instead of sugar in your diet for mineral-rich sweeteners that are natural to the body and arenāt empty calories. Drinking this blend helps kill parasitic yeast that cause sugar cravings.

Ā Wonderful for restoring the intestinal ecosystem after a candida infestation. Ā Effective anti-parasitic. Licorice Root: An excellent prebiotic with a tangy sweet taste and numerous fungicidal properties. Black Walnut: Studies on compounds found in black walnut extract have shown it to be as effective against candida as commercial antifungal treatments like selenium sulfide and zinc undecylenate. Chamomile- Chamomile has been utilized as a skin wash to clean wounds and ulcers, and to increase the sloughing of necrotic tissue and promote granulation and proper healing. It also has been reported to have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, astringent, and deodorant properties. Echinacea- stimulates the overall activity of the cells responsible for fighting all kinds of infection. Unlike antibiotics, which directly attack bacteria, it makes our own immune cells more efficient at attacking bacteria, viruses and abnormal cells, including cancer cells. It increases the number and activity of immune system cells including anti-tumor cells, promotes T-cell activation, stimulates new tissue growth for wound healing and reduces inflammation in arthritis and inflammatory skin conditions. Ā It also kills yeast and slows or stops the growth of bacteria and helps to stimulate the growth of new tissue. It combats inflammation too, further supporting its use in the treatment of wounds.
