I have now lived through every holiday or significant date in my life without my mom. I don’t know whether I should be proud of myself or feel sorry for myself that I had to. We’re coming up on a year since she left us. It feels like an eternity and yesterday all at once. I miss her every day. I’ll love her, always.

My mom’s death certificate is coming in the mail today. I’ve purposely waited this long to order one because I wasn’t ready. I’m still not. We’re approaching one year and I can’t believe it’s been that long. It feels like yesterday and an eternity all at once. I still see the last image I had of her every night before I go to sleep. Some days are better than others. I try to find happiness and joy in everything I do. Sometimes the sadness is too much to bare.
