In 2006, Jeremiah Kiponda Kambi and some close friends gathered to address one of the biggest problem in his beloved country, Kenya - the large percentage of talented students who drop out of school because they cannot afford the fees for high school. Several years previously, it had been a scholarship that had allowed Jeremiah to become a physician and he felt that funding the school fees for deserving students would benefit the whole community. The idea to give opportunities to high-potential students with financial need immediately appealed to Dr. Kristin Kapitza and Dr. Florian Kapitza who were visiting Kenya at that time. From there, Jeremiah, Florian, Kristin, Dr. Eva Köberl, and others founded Aiducation International with the team in Kenya identifying deserving applicants and the team in Switzerland raising scholarships and pushing the idea forward. Today, dozens of Aiducators, most of them on a complete voluntary basis, make Aiducation International possible. They are students and young professionals who are passioate about giving bright and needy student access to education and thereby access to their potential.
