Generally, I know, but she was never a girl to just do something without reason. There had to be something behind why she did it. I feel like I started being so soft on her that she doubted my masculinity, which would explain why she went for my very masculine friend instead. I suppose that would be the case, though.
You can't blame yourself for those sorts of things. Neither she nor your friend had the common decency to respect you. No one deserves to be cheated on. No one. And it can happen to the most faithful person. I know it sounds cliche, but you'll find someone better. It may not be now, or even ten years from now -- but you'll find someone that makes you wonder why you ever thought you were worth something less than you really are.

There generally aren't reasons. Sometimes they second guess themselves. Sometimes they lose the passion. They always lack the respect to break things off before they get involved with someone else. Don't wish that you'd asked her. She would make herself out to be the victim of her own whims, or she would blame you. That's how it always works.

I randomly started missing my ex and how we’d talk about pretty much everything life had to offer, then I remembered she cheated on me.
It’s always easy as hell to pull yourself out of that whole “missing you” thing when you remember just how badly they screwed you over.
