HATE

Oh Ted. He is SO insecure. His lifestyle of luxury left him with some knowledge of the arts and history, but what does any of that matter now? He is having a full existential crisis every second, thinking about how he could have lived his life better and what his foolishness has made him now. He has no real skills. He’s so hesitant to accept help or kind words from you. Every little good thing you do only makes him feel all the more inferior.

You’re the first and only of the group to convince him that you aren’t working against him. You always share what little food you manage to get your hands on, try to initiate and hold conversations - nothing that you didn’t also do with the others - but to Ted, the fact that you weren’t treating him differently or lesser? Even though he would rant about everyone hating him? It surprised him. He’d expected you to pull away from him, but in fact it drew you closer. You start paying a lot more attention to him and his smug little ass eats it right up. Other aspects of you command his respect, and he considers you not just another nobody trapped here with him, but a friend. Maybe more.

Eventually what you have together builds up and it’s starting to show. Whenever AM loses interest after putting y’all through hell (e.g. situations like the windstorm), you’re the first thing he thinks of. He calls for you and you alone, and when he finds you he’s overwhelmed by his emotions. He didn’t know that here, in this demented place at the end of time, he could actually feel love. He’s worried that one day, on one of these journeys, you’ll be separated, and AM is going to take you away from him forever. Anyways he’s a little fucking crybaby about you.

Remember that insecurity? Well, you’re going to have to fight it constantly with Ted, reassuring him nonstop that you love him and you mean it.

Ted is a cuddle man through and through. He loves to hold you and NO position or environment is too uncomfortable for him. Ice caves? Damp forest floor? Rocky terrain? If y’all ever stop for a quick rest (provided AM doesn’t do something dastardly to you) he is content to be your mattress. And he’s so soft and comfy and warm…

What a TOUCHER by the way. Hand resting on the small of your back, arm wrapped around your waist, fingertips trailing along your neck - if there are less than 8 inches of space between you, he’s gotta put his hands somewhere on your body. It’s usually comforting and sweet but sometimes it feels like he’s TRYING to fluster you and rile you up. It really is just absent-minded behavior.

Speaking of being unable to keep his hands to himself, he is one CLINGY MFer in general. He only walks next to you, converses with you the most openly, and is so needy about physical affection. Literally just pet his head and face like you would a cat and he’s purring like one. He is, as established, very handsy and sometimes cuddling can turn a little ✨ spicy ✨.

Super gentle lover btw. The old him would have just focused on his own pleasure, but with you things are different. He’s very big into foreplay and enjoys kissing you all over, leaving some light marks on your neck and collarbone. Aftercare is something he learns while with you. Cuddling with you after seems to keep you a lot happier and he enjoys it anyways, so why not?
